Keep Rolling Rolling Rolling....

3rd driving class behind my back ("achter de rug" can you say that in English???). Anyways... so I think I'm getting more confident. I can smoothly stop at a traffic light and I can start driving without the engine getting killed. I also now change gears myself so now it all feels more complete. Plus I kinda have more control.

I kinda want more classes per week but we can't really plan that because I can only drive in my lunch break etc. I wanna drive more but not longer because after an hour I start loosing concentration. Gotta pay attention to so many things at the same time. I think once I can do the clutch properly (i.e. "feel it come up...") it all gets easier. But it's fun and I am less scared and stuff. I have to also still practice the "rolling on the clutch" because once you know the point it moves the car you also know the point when to give more gas etc. But oh well... I know I'm just impatient. I wanna drive properly NOW. Everything now now now... :) I'm like that.

Another than that, our funky CaRrOt is visiting which means loads of extra fun. I can't wait to go home and we can all sit next to each other on our network and surf the internet. Haha. :) I can picture us like chicken in a row.

Hmm speaking of chicken... now there's a plan...

Rubber Chicken for Dana, that is...

Roller Coaster Tycoon 3

We just installed it last night and haven't really played it yet but I have to tell you, it's gonna be our newest big addiction!!! last night we just created the Tefkaak Family, with Homer and Flattie as little boys. Flattie being a Sissy and only liking lame rides (just like Angel) and staying close to his mommies and Homer of course liking insane rides (just like the Kuschi). And in the first 30 minutes we played Angel and Flattie went on the lame rides and Homer and I had to wait outside. But as a reward Homer and I bought a chicken!!! And then we were walking around gnawing on a chicken leg. Very very realistic. And also very cute!!! I can't wait to get home and play it again. *bighappygrin*.

Purikura

Those of you who have received sn@il m@il from the Tefkaak, you might have noticed the little stickers of the Tefkaak on the outside of an envelope or package. Thos little stickers with fotos of you on them, "purikura", are one of the (many) big hypes in Japan. You go into one of those booths/machines with your friends, then choose a funky framing or comic character or whatever to also be on the sticker and then you trade those stickers with your other friends. Kids there have whole books, full of stickers of them and their family and friends. It's very cool. I'm not sure if it's still there but there used to be one of those machines in the videogame center in Scheveningen. Gotta go and check it out, we need some more stickers!!! :D

Wow, you're glowing!

Last night I saw that bit about Tchernobyl on the Discovery Channel. I was four at the time but I'm convinced that we didn't know back then. Since I lived in the GDR, who just like the USSR played down everything around that accident, we weren't even warned about the radioactive rain. East Germany is quite close to the Ukraine and since the radioactive cloud even reached Japan and the US, I'm sure I got some of the crap, just like so many other people. I don't know whether it was enough exposure to get sick from it and I guess if someone knew about that it would never be made public. I have to ask my parents one day how much they knew about the catastrophe back then as opposed to now. How much our government told us or warned us about back then...

On a different note, our house seems about finished on the inside (outside will still have to be done by contractors, but that is none of my concern :P). The couch(-monstrocity) is standing, all ledges on the carped are painted and nailed to the wall and I even got the router to work. Well it functions like a network hub now. Now I only have to figure out how I can let Winroute run together with zone alarm. Or I don't know if zoneAlarm itself lets other pcs on the network access the internet through my pc as a gateway. I dunno. I'll find out someday...

I've got wheels, of polished steel, I've got tires that dribe the road...

I had my second driving class today. A double lesson at that. I was allowed to do the clutch and breaks now as well. Tricky stuff but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Killed the engine twice and also my right foot hurts from pushing on the gas. I must be holding my foot wrong or something. Outchie. Also I give gas too slow because I'm worried I'll kill the car again so I drive like a granny. Oh well, nothing else to be expected from miss scaredy-pants, which is me. But other than that it's fun. I'm told that if you can drive in Rijswijk you can drive anywhere.

However my bad driving set aside I still will only come second in the stupidity awards. Angel will win that prize. She just phoned me to tell me that she locked Basil in our house... o_O; He was nice enough to come over and fix a lamp that we couldn't reach and Angel was over in her luch break to let him in but had to leave again. When she left she locked the door and Basil of course has no key. Hahahaha... that's so funny I don't feel so bad about me killing the car anymore.... hihihihi.

Oh, the couch is supposed to finally come tomorrow and I hope that this time they deliver the right pieces! So I have the day off again to wait for IKEA.

Cleanuparage

So I cleaned up the sidebar. I made it so that everyone's blog opens in the same window so it's easier to navigate and I took out useless stuff and put some more music recommendations up. :)

I'm thinking about making a new blog design again, but I'll wait with that until we have the house finished.

Other than that I'm crazy about the Xbox game Fable which is one of the most interactive and personalized RPG action adventures I've played. Everything is up to you and there are many different ways to finish the game. I finished it once already in 4 days (well, i was sick and couldn't do anything else) but I'm playing again and try to get more out of it. I love it! :)

News From The Kuschi-front

So the couch mess has been picked up by Ikea and we're waiting now for them to deliver the correct pieces. What a disaster. At least we got our carpet down. Tomorrow all we have to do is paint.

If you're looking for legal and free mp3s and you don't mind German then go here: http://www.tonspion.de. I personally download everything from the "silence" section which has 5 "stars" (rating) and above. And I like it all. The reviews are a good go-by. What they do is, they find the mp3s on the official record company site etc and just review it and link it. This way I have discovered quite the amount of unknown good music. So if you're bored one day go check it out. :)

Other than that I'm happy I assimilated Angel into liking manga so my childhood dream of owning a giant bookcase full of cute japanese comics is coming true thanks to tokyopop books, amazon.co.uk and Angel's credit card :D.

Gotta go sleep now. Loads of painting to be done tomorrow.

Sleep tight, world.

STOP IT!!!!!!

What the hell is going on??? This country is losing it!!! A week ago this writer and film-maker who was well-known for his ignorant rants about religions, especially the islam, has been murdered by a brainwashed muslim youngster. The motive was apparently the things he said. Whereas that man, Theo van Gogh, yes, related to the painter who cut of his own ear, was hated by many muslim and non-muslim people in this country the big shock to this country is the fact that you now can apprently not openly say your opinion. I personally think that what he said was always borderline and always meant to provoke others, but it still does not justify murdering him.

So now, that event has triggered this insanity in the netherlands. It's just a week later and muslim institutions, like primary schools, kindergardens, mosques (spell?) or community houses are falling victim to vandals. They are put on fire, sprayed with graffitti hate slogans and in return christian churches are being put on fire as well. There is this air of total insecurity what will happen next. An extremist muslim group who have already done terrorist attacks in other countries are now threatening the dutch government and its people to stop it or else we will pay. nice. Since we all didn't even do anything. This country is being run by nazis and muslim terrorists right now! What the fuck??? So some shitty skinhead throws a molotof cocktail at a muslim school, the rest of the country condemns that and investigations start, and then we have to pay for it??? This hatred on both sides is not going to end well and it sucks that again, as usual innocent people are in the midst of it.

Last night I thought I dreamt that I heard loads and loads of sirens outside. This morning I find out it's not a dream. The police has done arrests in our city, The Hague, during the night which resulted in several explosions, shootings (all things that don't happen often here), agents got hurt and they arrestest some guy. Additionally the airspace above and around The Hague is closed off for all air traffic. What the hell is going on??? Did they just prevent a terrorist attack on one of the UN buildings or on a government building or something??? I'm really scared. i always thought we'de die because the US will bomb us, but it looks like it's more likely that we'll die in a terrorist attack by either muslim extremists or neonazis. great.

And all of a sudden the fact that IKEA still has not delivered the missing parts for our couch and that we sit on the floor is so unimportant.

Man I wish I could make a virus that would only affect people that have all that hatred in them and it would suck the hatred out of them.
