Guns are for pussies!

For those who have not seen the lovely "give your daughter a gun for christmas" poster yet go here. I am against owning weapons if you're not in the (official) law enforcement and I hate that ridiculous attitude so many US americans have towards owning a shotgun. I know you're gonna think, "hey, that Kuschi, her favourite anime is NOIR and it's all about the guns" and you're completely right. It's just negative about guns. I mean it may look all cool when the 2 girls run around shooting villains but the deep part of the story is that both of them wish they had never been trained to use guns when they were toddlers because it's just plain horror.
So yeah, justifying owning a gun with a slogan like "Cops own guns to save lives - so can you!" just proves what kind of a moron those people are. For me, owning a gun means you're planning on using it. And when you use a gun you shoot at someone, and when you shoot someone he gets hurt and in many cases dies. Meaning, you shot a person dead. Murdered a human being. Why would you want your child to do that? Or know how to? Guns don't save lives, guns TAKE lives. I can sort of live with sport-shooters who are registered and in a club etc. They usually aren't the problem because there are so many tests you need to pass in order to be allowed to use a gun legally. But that USA attitude majorly surpases that. And in that weapons campaign the even bluntly state that you should own a gun to KILL someone in order to defend yourself. That campaign promotes murder.

How come if a cop in a risky and unclear situation shoots an unarmed person they get in all sorts of trouble but in the USA you're perfectly allowed to shoot someone who breaks into your house regardless whether he was armed or not, just by declaring self-defense you get away with murder? What the hell?

Really? How do they justify that? Even in their frakked-up minds?

And also, what the hell goes through someone's head when they bump into someone and then get pissy and just draw a gun and repeatedly shoot them in the head for not watching their step? (That happened in Zoetermeer a week ago) People like that should be sent to prison for life! Never let them out again. Ever. The justice system in this country here sucks. That guy will walk again in less than 5 years, I'm sure! They should do it like this: First of all, raise the punishment tremendously, cause now the maximum for anything is only 20 years (yes even for coldblooded murder), and then just add-up all the sentences to one long prison stay. Let's say 15 years for illegally owning a gun + 15 years for firing it + 30 years for attempted murder.

Really, guns are bad news. Nothing good comes of them especially in all those wrong hands. And let's face it, anyone can fire a gun. It's for weak losers who can't deal with anything and who have absolutely no clue about how life works and what it's worth and how one person's life influences so many others...

I mean in an ideal world, even cops would not carry guns, but they do need those and they are trained to shoot properly to only wound a person and most importantly they are trained to cope with the repercussions of shooting at a person, cause, don't underestimate the effect it has on you.

And even in my beloved movie "Léon - The Professional", in the end Léon wants to protect Mathilda from that world of guns and violence and death so she can have a normal childhood and notbe exposed to that kinda crap, cause he knows what it's like, and it's bad.

The grass is always greener on the other side

It is, really. So I moved rooms today in the Office and contrary to my collegue I do prefer the new room. Granted we don't have any sunshine anymore and I DO miss that, however we also have a free view of the street (where tram 17 goes direction of the Dena's work) and no longer have to look out to a concrete courtyard that nobody ever goes into and that has only 2 small hairs of grass sprouting between the grey tiles. Now under our window we have a little pond and loads of green grass. Nice! Also, and that is the most important aspect of the entire move, we no longer are exposed to cigarette smoke and it makes me so happy, I can't even describe it. I already feel much better. So that makes a happy Kuschi. We do have to walk a LOOOONG way now to the kitchen (to wash up coffee cups etc) and the bathroom and it's a longer way to the garage to the bikes but walking in a smoke free part of the hallway can't harm anyone, can it now? :)



And I wish I could draw like this. I got it of a Marimite board so I don't know who the incredible artist is, but it's so pretty. Such a simple sketch with such meanigfully athmospheric colouring. Really beautiful. :)

And let's not forget that I shall now go hunting for the newst LOST episode. *gg* Yupp, I shall go and do that now. :)

Oooh... there should be... I can see it before me.... Alex can be very fluffy when she's not drunk. And they'd be so hot. I just want to make a list of TV Shows I'm currently watching so I can always remember what I still need to download... haha...

1) Battlestar Galactica Season 2[ status: watched Ep 2x09; next Ep airs in the US on Friday meaning we have it by Sunday ]
2) The L-word Season 2 [ status: watched Ep 2x03; have whole 2nd season on DVD (I love torrents); Carmen = lickalicious! ]
3) Gilmore Girls [ status: going with dutch TV right now, once a week every Tuesday but once they stop, we'll be torrenting, I think]

None really. I'm still hoping for a 3rd Marimite Season but I doubt that's gonna happen... maybe they'll make a new Shoujo-Ai series... getting tired of watching Noir over and over again... :/

It's hard to keep up with all those shows... it's like the old days when you had friends in the US who'd tape the new Star Trek Voyager Ep for you and send it by mail... instead now it takes a couple of hours of download... lol

Of course, in the life of Tefkaak when it get's down to freezing temperatures during night, the heater does not work. So again I need to take time off work to be home when the plumber comes... again. At least my (really nice, but my-music-hating) collegue is off for 2 days so it's me and my iPod and no more crappy mainstream radio station. Whee!

Lord of the Rings soundtrack and the sun shining through the window onto my back... what more could you want from a working monday? All is well...

Believe it or not the Kuschi has actually moved her fat ass to go "jogging" yesterday. It was such nice weather so I forced myself to do it... I found my running shoes and then I grabbed my iPod and started running. 1 minuted later I had to stop and I walked on for 1 minute and then started running again... I did that routine for 20 minutes... you know... run a bit then nearly die and stop running and run again.. at least I ran straight from the road back to the house in the end... and that's about... hmmm... 300 meters... I'm so proud... hahaha... well, more of that will have to be done. At least it makes me feel better to know that I am in better shape than the other 2 inhabitants of the Tefkaak Mansion. Ha! So that's at least something.

Oh and that great diet of ours has come to an end... sort of. I can't really say I lost weight but I did lose some fat around my stomach so I guess it just got turned into muscles or something. Dunno. But I feel better at least.

We also of course watched the newest Battlestar Galactica 2k installment and I'm still no smarter. I just can't figure out if Brig-Boomer has good or bad intentions. Is she a defected Cylon who genuinely wants to help the humans because she loves the chief and Helo, or is she only playing along to guarantee her unborn baby's survival? I could not figure out if she saved Galactica with the virus attack because Adama threatened to kill her or if she planned to save them all along and it just took a while? All these questions... I doubt any of them will be answered soon. Haha...

EDIT: I found out that my page is no longer html validated since blogger screws around in my code... Once I make a new layout I shall try to fix that but I'm just saying, it's not my fault, it's blogger that fraks it up... there.

True creativity

You all know how much I love new hypes, and a while back my Dad brought the phenomanon of Machinima to my attention, which is basicly a way for young movie makers to use 3D computer in-game footage as their source material for well directed music clips. My favourite ones are by this girl: http://www.decorgal.com/ and not because she used THE SIMS as her "actors" but because all her videos are so well done and very emotional. If you can spare the bandwidth I totally recommend watching a couple of them. My favourite one is "December Sun".

So and yes believe it or not the Dena and teh moi have managed to actually move our buttocks down to the beach and check out the awesome waves... erm... more less than more. I'd say about half a foot high... haha... but there were several peeps down there on their longboards... gotta start somewhere and I know the Northsea is not really known for clean lips. So we are on a list now expecting a call on a day that we have surf-worthy weather.

Another thing is that now that I find all those cool bands Amazon all of sudden has a shipping backlog or something. I'm still waiting for my "The Thrills" CDs... also I can't remember if I ordered the Killers already or not... but you cannot get their CDs here unless you get the import which costs half a foot. And well I still need my foot to stick up peoples' asses so we can't have that.

Oh and yeah, the Weather Forecast: Rain right now, rain tomorrow, rain the day after... rain for the whole next week.... just peachy. *pouts* It's gonna be so much fun on my mountain bike on my way to work... *rolls eyes*

And yeah I'm working on the new layout but I keep getting distracted by Angel yelling at that Marie Pierce thing who is wiping all my fave players of the court by being a cheating bitch... I hate her.... oh well... at least Kim Clijsters is still in the race and she better kick her Finger-blowing, hair-adjusting, shoelace-in-the-middle-of-play-fixing ass.

So I'll get back to designing since it's what I do best ^__^; Or not...

So, whilst Dana was off to a call back for her Job offer thingamabob, which to me sounds pretty much like, "sign here" I think she'll get the job :D I sat at home all morning keeping the house company since we had a plumber guy come over, who actually could even pass as Mario. So now our heating is working again properly... meaning without leaks. And he replaced some extra pipes which also looked very rotten to me (well and to him). So now that our heater is fixed it's around 27 degrees Celsius out there... It's fun biking at noon. :) No really. I hope tomorrow is still like that, since then, Dena and I shall skimp around the beach testing out surf placesandmabobs. After work that is.

I can't believe that the help in Lousiana and Mississippi is still not working out. People are still stuck in their broken homes, now people are dying from poisoning because of the filthy dead-body soup water and the government claims everyone is safe and the people left are there by their own free will, which is not true, since I've seen several TV shows this morning where people phoned TV channels and told them that even now 10 days after they are still sitting there, starving to death and being thirsty like hell. They have not seen a SINGLE helper person. And I'm not blaming the rescue workers down there, since they are doing all they can, I just wonder why the heck the rest of the country can't send police forces ect? I know that all soldiers are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan and Shit knows where but there has to be, I don't know, strong men all over the country who can take a boat and roam around the disaster area and pick up survivers... can't be that hard, huh?

Weird.

Oh and also I have a tingling... I have new design ideas in my head :D So yeah if at one point this layout has changed it was on purpose :D

The Flying Spaghetti Monster...

My obligatory noodle blog entry and maybe a way to lure more unexpecting blog googlers into this shallow place of ramblings.

So actually quite coincidentally in this noodly rage week I have actually consumed many earthly incarnations of his noodliness since somehow in my work canteen all the other food choices plain sucked every day so far, so pasta it was every single day. And I wonder, am I a bad Pastafarian by eating that much noodles? I mean, we all know I live on Ramen, but that might be a different "race" of noodles... no?

Also I tried printing out the "Touched by his Noodly Appendage" at work and it only printed out the guy with is way tiny manlyhood and I totally forgot. Then a couple of hours later I turned to my printer and was like "Like EWWW! Why is there a printout of a naked dude?" Need I mention that I need more sleep?

So, also, since summer made a quickie comeback the adventures of half naked Kuschi in the city continued. Really, people seem to stare at me alreay for whatever reason, but when I wear a summerskirt and tanktop with my boobs showing people seem to gawk even more. If there was a naivity achievement award I'd so get it. I just really like wearing them tight tanktops when it's really hot. I hate having fabric on me when it's humid. And if it was socially acceptable (i.e. no guys on this planet) I'd run around in only underwear any day. Heh.

I also kinda want to write about the Katrina hurricane thing in Mississippi and Lousiana. It's all so shocking. I know I always say how much I hate Americans and all but the people I got to know while I lived there, I still cared about them and I don't know if they are okay. I have no clue what happened to Jackson since the Hurrican was still a hurricane when its eye blew over the city. And don't get me started on New Orleans. It will never be back to the way it was, and I loved New Orleans.

I mean, me a USA hater am more concerned with the lives in those parts than the US government. Nothing seems to be happening at all. They sent armies in to stop "looting" which is nothing but trying to survive since the government does not sent food but just declares Marshall Law instead. Feel free to fire at those fighting for survival. Man I hate Bush so much and all those victims will just all go uber christian again not seeing that their governmentg is holding them down and letting them die... dammit. I know I should not care... but if anyone knows how Hinds county in MS is doing after the storm, feel free to drop a comment.

Have I mentioned how shocked I was to learn that nearly 40 million of the citizans of the USA live below the poverty line? That's about 3x as many people as live in this country here... can you just imagine? okay... I'll stop now... lemme think of something else to write...

Oh yeah... looking into surfing again... I think it's something I really need to do, living in walking distance from the beach and all... I was using the distance to the sea in Berlin as an excuse not to go surfing and look at me now. Yeah I'm such a loserette bitch. At least we had some karate drill workout session which contained the jumping into stance on the surfboard so all I need now is train my paddle muscles and off I go... yeh!

Other than that my TV life is picking up again. It's September. So I'll have Survivor, Girlmore Girls, Desperate Housewives, The OC (until Olivia Wilde leaves the show at least) and all sorts of other reality shows that involve starved bitches fighting on a Tropical Island. Sounds. Like. Fun.
