# That was the weekend that was    02'07'29 11:37

Now, that's what a weekend should be like. Suffice to say for now, it lasted from quarter to seven, friday evening, till this morning ten past eight. Bit tough to be at work in the tropical heat - and I'm resorting to herbal energy drinks to get myself up enough for a rather annoying meething later (if it weren't for that, I'd be lying on the grass somewhere now).

Amongst the highlights: the nude beach. I can't believe that I'd never been to one before. Loved it. And I even managed to avoid sunburn on those white parts of my body that have seen very little sun til yesterday (note. not never: I can sunbathe on my balcony. Still, that balcony is sadly lacking in the sea, sand and wind department).

# Sometimes a dream ...    02'07'25 11:41

... is just a dream.
Does this sound familiar to you? Sometimes, I dream about an action, not necessarily world-shattering, for instance posting a letter, then a few days later it suddenly comes to me that I didn't really do it - the memory of doing it actually was a dream. And the envelope is still lying in the hallway on the outpile.
Well, I dreamt that since everything had gotten so expensive with the euroflation, instead of one and two euro coins, there were now two and three instead. The two the same as the current, the three similiar but even bulkier, bigger than the old 5 deutschmark.
And I just picked up my wallet - heavy today, lots of change - and it flashed by that the dream I had was just that. A dream. That it werent' all those three-euro coins that made it so heavy. That, shudder, they don't exist at all!
Oh, nice one. Silly me. <grin>

# What a pick-up line...    02'07'21 23:34    link

Do you blog here often?

Priceless.

It came pouring down yesterday, and I didn't dare to take my camera out. But Barto did!

# Sevilla Alcazar    02'07'08 10:51    link

Sevilla Alcazar, june 2002
Didn't get to see Granada this time, so I've still got something to look forward to. This palace was so beautiful, and the gardens were certainly worthy for a king in the afternoon, post-siesta heat.
And once again, only now I see the scans on a windows machine and there's the purple shading again. Too bad, I'm not going to adjust them, they look great on my mac (better than converting them to greyscale - funny how that works. And I haven't washed the original prints from which I made the scans.)

# today on the ferry    02'07'05 20:38

...chatting away with someone on the ferry, about the poetic names the boats to IJmuiden have, Why is one called Archimedes, and the other Annemarie? An ancient philisopher and a rather ordinary dutch woman's name. We didn't solve the puzzle but a splendid time was had by all.
Afterwards I realized that it was cobra-painter Aad Veldhoen & wife.

# no toros!    02'07'05 19:36

Apparently, not everyone favours bull fighting in Sevilla.
(though this is the voice of a small minority, according to my friends over there)

# This can't be happening!    02'07'03 23:43    link

Vancouver takes over from Amsterdam. Enjoy, guys. Weird thing is, I've never seen so many people openly smoking pot as in Spain last week, with cops walking by...
