Cast of StarGate SG-1

RICHARD DEAN ANDERSON - COLONEL JACK O'NEILL
The leader of the Stargate team SG-1 is colonel Jack O'Neill, he has been with the Stargate program since the first expedition to Abydos. Prior to the first Stargate mission O'Neill spent many years with the Air Force as a Black Ops operator. O'Neill promptly retired from the Air Force when his son, Charlie, accidently shot and killed himself while playing with his father's gun. During the course of his mission on Abydos, O'Neill overcame his isolationist attitude with the help of a native named Skaara who reminded him of his son. Upon return from the Abydos mission O'Neill found that his wife, Sarah, had left him. One year later O'Neill was recalled to Stargate Command to help determine the source of an alien disturbance and wound up re-joining the Air Force in order to lead a Stargate team, SG-1, and hopefully, someday, find Skaara, who had been abducted and now host to a Goa'uld parasite known as Klorel. O'Neill remains reluctant to allow people to get to know him as he remains in a constant state of unforgiveness for the death of his son, Charlie.

AMANDA TAPPING - CAPTAIN SAMANTHA CARTER
After working with the Pentagon an astro-physicist researching on the Stargate, Samantha Carter was called by General Hammond to join SG-1 as Captain. Because of her actions being far greater for the rank of a Captain, she was later on promoted to Major.

Since her childhood, Carter wanted to be an astronaut, but he plans were interrupted after the Challenger disaster. She spent 100 hrs in enemy airspace during the Gulf War and has flown an F-16. Her mother was killed in a car accident and her father, Jacob Carter, who was dying from cancer, was blended with a Tok'ra, Selmak, and now lives with the Tok'ra on their home world.

After being taken over by the Tok'ra, Jolinar of Malkshur who sacraficed her life to save Carter's, the presence of the Tok'ra altered her body and left her with the following abilities: The partial ability to use Goa'uld technology, like the ribbon and the healing device, the ability to sense naquadah and detect a Goa'uld symbiote within a host. Her mission, as a member of the SGC, is to gather as much information as she can about the Stargate itself.

She is single.

MICHAEL SHANKS - DR. DANIEL JACKSON - MICHAEL SHANKS
As struggling Egyptologist who believed that the great Egyptian pyraminds had not been made by the Egyptians; Dr. Daniel Jackson was contacted by Catherine Langford who wanted Jackson to decipher the symbols on a gate discovered in Giza, Egypt in 1920. After sucessfully deciphering and turning the Stargate on, Jackson was added as a member of the first expedition team to Abydos. During the mission Jackson met and fell in love with a native Abydon named Sha're. Once Jackson and the Air Force team he accompianed to Abydos destroyed Ra, Jackson decided to remain on Abydos to study the Abydon culture and marry his love, Sha're. One year later Colonel Jack O'Neill returned to Abydos searching for the origin of an alien attack on Earth. During O'Neill's visit Sha're was abducted by the Serpent God Apophis. Jackson agreed to return to Earth with O'Neill and later to join SG-1 in the hope of one day finding his wife.

CHRISTOPHER JUDGE - TEAL'C
Teal'c is a member of the Jaffa race, of the home planet Chulak. Similar to humans in overall appearance, Jaffas have an "X" shaped incision or marsupial pouch in the abdomen. When a Jaffa reaches approximately eight years of age, a Goa'uld larvae, the infant form of a parasitic being, is placed in the Jaffa pouch in order to mature. In return for serving as host or incubator, the symbiont Jaffa is bestowed perfect health and an extended life span. After a seven year gestation period, the mature Goa'uld parasite seeks out a new host, (usually human). All Jaffa have a mid-forehead tattoo or symbol designating them as Goa'uld hosts. The Serpent Guards are the elite or royal guard of the Jaffa. They wear the heavily armored "serpent head" helmets. Teal'c aided the SG-1 Team during their first mission to Chulak, and returned to Earth as a voluntary member of the SG-1 Team.

DON S. DAVIS - GENERAL GEORGE HAMMOND
General Hammond's standing orders are to analyse the threat potential of alien races, defend Earth from possible hostile invasion, and to analyse and recover technologies for study and further development. He received decorations for meritorious service in the Kuwait theater and in Vietnam. Special background and previous service include serving with the Project Bluebook Re-Evaluation, and as Commanding Officer of the Groom Lake Operations Facility.

TERYl ROTHERY - DR. FRAISER
Leaving her husband to persue a medical career in the United States Air Force, Dr. Fraiser found herself assigned to the top secret Stargate Command after the head doctor at the SGC was killed while on duty. From the beginning Dr. Fraiser knew that working at Stargate Command would demand her total effort, but, after all, that's why they called her in. From finding virus cures to performing surgeory, Dr. Fraiser is challenged on a daily basis. Not only does Dr. Fraiser find herself in positions where she must save a life but she is also put in command of finding cures to plagues that could kill herself as well as Stargate Command, and possibly the human race. Her job is far from easy but that's why she loves it so much and Stargate Command could not continue on without the expertise of Dr. Fraiser.

CORIN NEMEC - JONAS QUINN
First introduced in the Season Five finale, Nemec portrays "Jonas Quinn," a human leader from another planet who visits Earth and becomes entangled with the SG-1 team. He will join "Colonel Jack O'Neill" (Anderson), "Major Samantha Carter" (Amanda Tapping) and "Teal'C" (Christopher Judge) as they continue to explore the uncharted regions of the universe - searching for clues to save the Earth from destruction.

Ben Browder - CAMERON MITCHELL
Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell is the commanding officer of SG-1, following the promotion of Jack O'Neill to Major General and the disbanding of the original SG-1 team. Mitchell is a daring fighter pilot, who led an F-302 squadron in the battle with Anubis's forces over Antarctica.

Beau Bridges - HANK LANDRY

The commander of the S.G.C. is Major General Hank Landry, a straight-talking and get-to-the-point military leader. Landry took over the position from Jack O'Neill around the time that SG-1 disbanded, and its members moved on to new assignments. General Landry is impressed with how efficient the S.G.C. is and how good everyone is at the their jobs -- something he almost regrets because he likes yelling at the officers who report to him.

Claudia Black - VALA MAL DORAN
thief and a con artist, Vala Mal Doran is an ally of SG-1. She makes a living trading, stealing, and selling things, and though she provides weapons to shadey characters, she is something of a morally conscious arms dealer. She is brash and self-confident, and disguises her true, sensitive character with humor and innuendo. Because of their history together, Vala and Daniel Jackson have a special, love-hate relationship.
