Lord Zipacna is a Goa'uld, was one of Apophis's most loyal underlords, and acted as Klorel's archon during the Tollan Triad to determine his fate.

Worlds

Abydos
Abydos, a desert planet with a 36-hour day, is the home planet of the Abydonians. It was the destination of the original stargate mission, to which O'Neill returned to find and bring back Daniel Jackson

ALARIS
Random Stargate dialling revealed that Alaris was one the planets affected by the time loop caused by the Ancient's machine on P4X-639. SG-12 was on the planet at the time and were able to return to Earth with injured team members. Jack and Teal'c were able to practice their golf by hitting golf balls to Alaris during the time loop, without any consequences.

Altair (P3X-989)
Altair's surface was destroyed when technology left it highly radioactive, forcing the surviving population to live underground. Its only remaining inhabitants are Harlan and the synthetic copies of SG-1 that he created.

Argos (P3X-8596)
Planet where the inhabitants only lived for a short period of time. They also fell asleep and woke up at exactly the same time. SG-1 discovered that this was caused by a Goa`uld device. After it was destroyed they could look forward to living a normal life.

BAAL'S OUTPOST
The outpost of Baal
BP6-3Q1
Planet that is the homeworld to the advanced Asgard race. The planet is covered in advanced cities and ships can often be seen hovering above them awaiting an assignment. The planet came under threat from three Replicator-infested Asgard ships in early 2000, but the force was repelled with the help of Major Carter.

B30-255
Planet where, in early 2000, SG-1 found a cuniform tablet which Daniel was trying to translate when Martin revealed his knowledge of the Stargate.

BP6-3Q1
Seemingly-deserted planet, which upon cursory examination appeared to have similar architecture and technology to the Earth of SG-1. The planetary Stargate is outside a large metropolitan area that, suspiciously, closely resembles downtown Vancouver, B.C., Canada. There were no people only large insectoids, which had killed the entire population. This planet is declared off limits until further notice.

Cartago (P3X-1279)
World that came under repeated attacks by the Goa`uld. Whenever the Stargate activates, they hide in caves where they can`t be found. During one of these attacks, lead by Teal`c when he was still First Prime of Apophis, he shot a crippled old man because the group is only as fast as its slowest members. He felt that this would allow them to be faster next time. He was put to Cor`ai, or trial, several years later when he returned to the planet with SG-1 and was sentenced to death. After helping them escape from another Goa`uld attack, he was allowed to go by Hano, the son of the man he killed.

Chulak
Home planet of the Jaffa, and a base of operations for the Goa'uld Apophis.

Delmak
Delmak was Sokar`s Homeworld before his death. It had one moon, Netu, which Sokar used as a hellish prison. Netu was destroyed by the Tok`ra, resulting in Sokar`s death. After Sokar's death, Delmak became Apophis' base until a Replicator-infested Mothership (with him aboard) crashed into the surface, killing Apophis, the Replicators, and , no doubt, alot of Jaffa.

Edora (P5C-768)
A barren world. The surface is uniform grey dust marked with craters. The planet's atmosphere has been lost, and visitors from Earth are required to wear protective suits similar to those worn by astronauts. Gravity is close to Earth-standard, with very little variance over or under. One structure of unknown origin was found. It contained little besides an ornate platform housing a globular device covered with tiny inscriptions. SG-1 took the artifact back with them when they returned to Earth through the planet's Stargate.

Entac
Planet which was conquered by Sokar. Martouf told Apophis that the Tok`ra Resistance was based on Entac in order to save Sam Carter`s life. He was, of course, lying.

Euronda
Planet which is home to two major sides of a race. The first are the Eurondans who are technologically advanced and possess neural interface and nuclear fission technology. The Eurondans started a war with the Breeders, as they call them, because they did not consider them to be genetically pure as they reproduced without consideration for the genetic purity of their child. The Eurondans were defeated by the Breeders with the aid of SG-1 when they discovered why they were fighting a war.

Hadante
Planet used as a prison. The Stargate is underground as the surface is poisonous.

Hanka (P8X-987)
Planet inhabited by primitive humans. They allowed the SGC to set up a telescope here to monitor solar activity. All the planet`s inhabitants were wiped out by a Goa`uld virus, the only exception being a girl who was intended to be used as a weapon to destroy Earth`s Stargate. Nirrti was using the Hankans for a genetics project and had a laboratory located beneath the forest.

Orban
Planet undergoing minor volcanic activity which also possesses a large body of water. It is home to an alien whose mate went to Earth to battle the Goa`uld. He captured Daniel Jackson and learned that she had been killed by the Goa`uld. He later released him and allowed him to return to Earth.

P2A-509
The prison world of the Taldor. It is known among the inmates, and to the Taldor, as "Hadante".

P34-353J
Home of the Tok'ra. The topography close to the Stargate is a featureless desert. The DHD is near-buried, and upon first glance it would appear that the planet had been long abandoned.

P3C-117
The home of the Nox.

P3R-233

P3R-272
The planet was notable largely for the sudden, inexplicable ecosystem activity as all indigenous life appeared to die off or otherwise go dormant. An SG team was dispatched

P3W-451
A planet which was, assumedly, engulfed by a black hole. It was located in a binary star system. The members of SG-10 were on assignment to reconnoiter the planet and determine surface conditions when the black hole was born. The planet and the members of SG-10 will appear to be on the verge of destruction by the black hole for the next several millenia, from the point of view of any observers on Earth. This is due to the relative alteration of the speed of time near the event horizon of a black hole.

P3X-1279 (Cartago)
Planet designate P3X-1279, known as "Cartago" to the people living near the Stargate.

P3X-513
It has been speculated by Teal’c that the Goa’uld will not return to P3X513.

P3X-562

A barren planet covered with deserts of bright yellow sand. The local Stargate is near a huge grouping of chipped and shattered translucent blue crystals. A sampling of the crystals was retrieved for analysis, and the blast scoring matched that of a discharge from a staff weapon. One of the crystals communicated with Captain Carter, confirming that the destruction of the crystals had been caused by the Goa'uld. The blue crystals had been the native life form and the grouping of crystals a mass killing ground.

P3X-593 (Simarka)
Planet designate P3X-593, known as "Simarka" to the people living near the Stargate, was one of the earlier places visited by SG-1. The terrain around the Stargate is a coniferous rainforest. Located near the Stargate on Simarka are ruins suggestive of a temple. The age of the ruins and the local lore indicate that the Goa'uld, who originally transplanted the Shavadai from Earth to P3X-593, abandoned the planet some 1,000 years past.

P3X-775
A planet that was once, and apparently still is, part of the system governed by a race or group called Taldor.

P3X-797

P3X-8596 (Argos)
Home of the transplanted human-Mycenaean culture who call themselves the "Chosen" Terrain local to the Stargate is coastal forest and plains, bounded by mountains and by the ocean. The Stargate is housed in a temple which also contains a statue of the Greek god Pellops. The architecture and decoration of both the temple and of the statue are reminiscent of the ancient Mycenaean culture. Outside the temple is a human-occupied city. The local architecture bears out the same Greek influences found in the temple.

P3X-866 (Oannes)
The planet Oannes, a large moon orbiting a gas giant. The surface of the planet close to the Stargate was covered in vents from which fire erupted sporadically. A large saltwater lake was also close to the gate. The only inhabitants or civilisation found on the planet was NEM, a primarily amphibian life form.

P3X-972
Planet designate P3X-972 is a vacant world with volatile atmospheric conditions. The planet's Stargate is housed in a large structure reminiscent of a stylised medieval European castle. Terrain outside the structure is broken and rocky, on a cliff overlooking an ocean. Atmospheric conditions are extremely volatile, given to high winds and rain. The Stargate itself is intact, but the DHD is damaged such that it can only be used to activate the Gate after detailed repairs. As all subsequent efforts to dial the planet's coordinates have failed, the storm that occurred as SG-1 made its way offworld is assumed to have destroyed the Stargate and possibly the entire castle. The coordinates of the planet were rediscovered not among the sequences on the Abydos cartouche, but in declassified films and documentation from a Stargate experiment in 1945. The experiment was considered a failure because the individual did not return through the Stargate. The structure itself was apparently a sort of gathering place for several alien species who used, and possibly developed, the Stargates. One of the writing styles was determined to be Asgard. Among the other artifacts in the structure was a codex of elements. NOTE: This planet has recently been reclassed
PB2-098

P3X-974 (Cimmeria)
A planet set aside, by a council of aliens known as the Asgard, as a safe world for the development of sentient species. The Asgard forbade the Goa'uld to come to the world, which they called Cimmeria, on pain of death. The system lords taught the Jaffa to avoid the world. The symbol for Cimmeria is a pictograph of Thor's Hammer, the weapon of the Norse god Thor, which Norse myth says was used to fight the Ettins, or evil gods. At some point in the past, a number of humans were brought from Earth to the planet by the Asgard Thor. The current planetary culture is primarily agrarian, and the people are highly cooperative with one another. Local terrain near the Stargate is a forest, with the farmlands nearby. Irrigation channels run from the near mountains to the farms, bringing water to the lowlands. A woman known as Gairwyn is the mistress of the planet, who welcomes newcomers through the Stargate.

P3X-989 (Altair)
Planet designate P3X-989 was the home to technologically advanced civilisation. The local Stargate is housed in a huge underground complex. The technology appears to be far in advance of contemporary Earth technology, but also appears to be in varying stages of disrepair. At some point in the past, something happened to cause the planetary surface to become unlivable from too much radiation solar or otherwise is not known. The people of P3X-987, or Altair as it was named by the natives, built the complex and moved underground. At some point the population transferred their personalities into android bodies to further prolong the life of their civilisation. Over time, more and more of the Altairians left the planet some to travel to other places via the Stargate; others to suicide on the surface of the planet. Only a handful of cybernetic inhabitants remain.

P4A-771
P4A-771 is a hostile planet, both in terms of geography and inhabitants. Geography around the Stargate is arid and featureless, with the exception of a series of standing stones, precisely placed and aligned. Upon exiting the Stargate, SG-1 was fired upon by an unknown kind of energy weapon. A shot hit the Stargate as SG-1 was attempting to return to Earth, causing a disruption of the normal functioning of the Stargate. Further attempts to determine the nature of the P4A-771 have resulted in the destruction of the MALP probe sent to investigate.

P4G-881
A primordial world, with no higher life forms. The atmosphere of the world is a soup rich in amino acids - exactly the type of environment that has been theorised by scientists to be the birth cauldron for current Earth species. The SGC sent an alien ark to the planet after retrieving it from P5C-353.

P5C-353
A barren world. The surface is uniform grey dust marked with craters. The planet's atmosphere has been lost, and visitors from Earth are required to wear protective suits similar to those worn by astronauts. Gravity is close to Earth-standard, with very little variance over or under. One structure of unknown origin was found. It contained little besides an ornate platform housing a globular device covered with tiny inscriptions. SG-1 took the artifact back with them when they returned to Earth through the planet's Stargate.

P8X-987 (Hanka)
A planet along the Stargate network. SG-7 had reconnoitered and set up a stellar observatory on the planet to study a black hole during a solar eclipse. A large farming settlement was in place around the local Stargate and the observatory. The planet's inhabitants were decimated by a virus, possibly a biological attack engineered by the Goa'uld. SG-1 had visited the planet previously, and Dr. Jackson learned that local legend said that "...with darkness would come the Apocalypse". The sole survivor of some 1,425 people was a young girl, who returned to Earth with SG-1.

PXY-887

P3X-7763 (Tollan)

Cultures

Abydans
A transplanted civilisation brought from Earth to their current home at the height of ancient Egyptian dynastic civilisation. Their language, clothing, and architecture all echo the Egypt of approximately 3,000 BC. The culture is sufficiently advanced that the people domesticate livestock the mastadges and have a limited technology but in an interesting omission, they do not use writing, though they have a writing system. Ra brought the people to Abydos roughly five millenia ago to establish another source of the mineral naquada, which is the base component of the stargating and weapons technology used by the Goa'uld, for use in supporting his power base. He kept the people in line using a combination of an aura of the divine, violence, and obedience - a formula more succinctly rendered as "myth, fear, and habit". Contact with Abydos by the people of Earth was re-established by the mission lead by Colonel Jack O'Neill, who was sent through the Stargate to determine any threat level and eradicate any hostiles. Accompanying the colonel were Major Ferretti and Lieutenant Kawalsky, as well as civilian Egyptologist Dr. Jackson. With the arrival of the Earthers through the Stargate, the Abydans' fate as slaves of a despotic "god" ended: Daniel helped bring writing and knowledge of their past to the people of Nagada when Sha're showed him the long-forgotten heiroglyphs on nearby ruins. Colonel O'Neill and his squad helped the people of Abydos fight against Ra, who was destroyed along with his ship in the skies above the planet. More recently, a new incursion of Goa'uld briefly invaded Abydos through the Stargate, taking Sha're and Skaara with them. Daniel left to go with Col. O'Neill and find his wife, telling the people of Abydos to bury the gate if he did not return within a specified time.

Altairians
Resident culture of planet designate P3X-989. The Altairian civilisation had a technological level higher than Earth's current level

Atonieks
Creators of the famous arm bands that gave the SG-1 team super powers, the Atonieks where a race that pre-dates the Goa'uld and is now unknowingly extinct.

Asgard
The Asgard, Thor's race of the planet Othala, are one of the alliance of four great races. They protect the planet Cimmeria from the Goa'uld, and have become friends and allies to Earth. They resemble Roswell Grays, and have often visited and studied Earth without detection.

The Badrosians
These people live on a planet known as Badrosia. Unlike the Optricans, they believe that their people where created on Badrosia by the Goa'uld Naferdom. This disagreement between both cultures is the cause of many wars on Badrosia.

Byrsa
The Byrsa are a transplanted human culture living on P3X-1279, a world also known as Cartago to the Goa'uld. The culture exhibits Greco-Roman and Celtic influences, as well as the more standard European trappings such as clothing. The most striking items about the Byrsa are their language and their justice code. The language is heavily based on Greek and Latin and, one can extrapolate, early German. The intricate chasings on various utilitarian items argues for Celtic background, as well. Their justice code, as exemplified by the Cor-ai, hearkens to Talumdic thought and Celtic brehon laws. Over time, the Byrsa developed a network of underground caverns that they used for concealment whenever the Goa'uld would come through the Stargate. The cultural mores that provided a strong base of cooperation in other areas of Byrsa life dictated that when attacked, either all of the people made good their escape, or none of them did.

Chosen
The local population of planet designate P3X-8596 known to the natives as "Argos". The population's clothing styles clearly reflect their earliest origins in the Mediterranean basin.Goa'uld calling itself Pellops. In order to better study human evolution, Pellops tampered with the DNA of the Argosians, inserting a nanovirus that dramatically sped up their lifespan so that they lived out the entire of their lives from birth to death in 100 days. When they arrived and discovered the controlling transmitter for the nanovirus, SG-1 destroyed it, thus allowing for the ageing patterns of the populace to return to human-normal. A later contact with the Argosians was made by SG-2, who confirmed that the people were living standard lifespans.

Cimmerians
The Cimmerians were taken from Earth just over 1,000 years ago, from northern Europe. Accordingly their culture the clothing styles, tools, architecture all echo the ancient Viking culture of Earth. Their economy is based on trade and agriculture, and the level of technology is equivalent to the 12th century, with some notable exceptions. The chief "protector" of the Cimmerians, as it was with Earth's Vikings, is Thor. Thor took them from their homeworld, which they name Midgard, and brought them to a new home, charging them to forgo fighting and conflict among themselves. He placed a large stone beside the Stargate and promised his people that he would protect them against the Ettins, or evil gods. The might of Thor's hammer kept the people of Cimmeria safe from any but peaceful visitors to their home.

Colony of the Ancients
As described on the ruins near the Stargate on P4X 639, these people had created the time device on that planet to send a team of scientists back in time to the key moment in history to save their people from an unspecified cataclysm. But instead, the device created a short time continuous loop, similar to the one experienced by Jack and Teal'c. They tried over and over again to try and get the device to work, but in the end they gave up and let the end come.

Early Christian Culture
These people are similar to how humans used to live thousands of years ago in the Dark Ages. Until SG-1 arrived on their planet, they where lead by a mysterious Cannon. They used to sacrifice people to an Unas, in service of Sokar, who then used these people as new hosts.
Eurondans
The SG-1 team first encountered the Eurondans when they received a distress signal from their leader Alar. The Eurondans where a technologically advanced race that where loosing a war against an unknown enemy at the time. When they found out that the Eurondans started the whole war because of racism, the SG-1 team decided to brake the peace treaty between Earth and Euronda.

Goa'uld
A limbless, highly intelligent life form which is, to date, found in a symbiotic relationship with humanoid life forms. The symbiotic relationship, wherein the adult Goa'uld controls the humanoid body and the host receives an enhanced constitution, may have arisen or been engineered by the Goa'uld to provide them with enhanced physical manipulative and motive capabilities. The origins and evolution of the symbiotic relationship are unknown, though it is possible for the Goa'uld queen life form to bioengineer her "children" so that they can symbiotically use different races. The life cycle/symbiont cycle of the Goa'uld has been observed to fall into two categories: the larval stage lasting seven years, in which the host maintains primary control of the body; and the adult stage, where the host personality is entirely subsumed and the Goa'uld is the dominant life force. Mature Goa'uld leave the host, termed a Jaffa, upon reaching maturity and seek a new host usually a humanoid. The host enjoys increased strength, a greatly lengthened lifespan, and immunity from most viruses and bacteria as the Goa'uld comes to replace the Jaffa's natural immune system. Because of the strentgh and health of their vassals and the technology that they use the Stargates, nanotechnology, force fields, and more, the Goa'uld are often viewed as gods by more primitive races. The Goa'uld encourage this view, as it is a useful tool in controlling their host/servant populations. Dr. Jackson theorised that the Goa'uld did not, in fact, create their own technology but rather adapted it from another race. This hypothesis is supported by several facts, including the existence of other more advanced species. Most telling is the evidence of a device that drives an adult Goa'uld out of its host. This information was later confirmed by the Asgard. The three known political groups among the Goa'uld are the System Lords, the Linvers, and the Tok'ra. The System Lords and the Linvers exist within the same political structure, with the System Lords currently holding the greater power. The Tok'ra hold are considered rebels by the System Lords not only because of their contesting for power, but because of their convictions about the forcible taking of hosts.

Jaffa
Host humanoids who act as incubators and servants for the Goa'uld. Any being so altered may be a used as a Jaffa host; but the overwhelming majority of Jaffa are descended from transplanted human stock. The planet Chulak is home to an entire society of Jaffa. They are humanoid, with an X-shaped incision centimeters below the navel which accesses the pouch in which the infant Goa'uld incubate. Those Jaffa who carry a Goa'uld are given extended lifespans and perfect health, as the Goa'uld replaces the functions normally served by the Jaffa's immune system. The Jaffa society on Chulak is a feudal theocracy, with a technological level similar to early-Renaissance Europe on Earth. Some exceptions to this tech level exist, such as the broadcast globes which the Goa'uld provide to their servants and the weapons and armor used by the Jaffa guards. The priests of the Jaffa are a central part of society, performing the ceremony of implantation called Prin'tah and reinforcing the Jaffa's awe of and reverence to their "gods" the Goa`uld. All Jaffa have a mid-forehead tattoo or symbol designating them as Goa'uld hosts. The marks indicate the Goa'uld which they serve. Apophis' Jaffa have the mark of the serpent on their foreheads. Heru-ur, his chief rival, is denoted by a hawk with spreading wings. The brands are plain black the exception being those Jaffa who have served as a First Prime, whose brands are made of gold inset in the Jaffa's forehead.

Nox
The Nox, a peaceful and highly advanced race native to P3X-774, are one of the members of the alliance of four great races. They possess powers of invisibility, and the ability to create floating cities and to revive their dead.

The Orbans
A research on the Orbans has almost proven that the planet's inhabitants are the descendants of the Teotihuacan, a pre-Aztec civilization from South America that disappeared around 750A.D. The local architecture shows a strong Teotihuacan influence.

Primitive Unas
These creatures where encountered on P3X 888 when Daniel Jackson was captured by one during his archeological dig. As Teal'c explained, they are not as strong and don't have great regenerative powers as those previously encountered. They do however have great stamina witch Dr. Jackson had the privilege to discover

Replicators
The Asgard found these technological aliens on a deserted planet, their creators where most likely destroyed by their own creation, as assumed by Teal'c. Asgard technology proves to be ineffective against these technological bugs, however, Human weapons like guns, seem to be the only way to successfully destroy them.

Salish
The transplanted population of planet designate PXY-887. The Salish are nomads, following the seasons. Their society is hunter-gatherer based, and is governed by a group of the tribe's elders who rule on matters that are important to the tribe as a whole. The Salish believe in a pantheon of guardian spirits who watch over their people. Trinium, a metal native to the planet, is harvested from the rivers and is used in production of simple tools and weapons. They also use trinium, which they call "ki", as augmentation and ornamentation for buildings, clothing, and other items.

Shavadai
"People of the Steppe"; the residents of planet designate P3X-593, which they name "Simarka". The culture is thought to be descended from the Mongols, circa 1162-1227 AD in particular, a certain tribe known as the "Chagatai" which strictly followed the earliest known Mongol traditions and cultures. The Shavadai follow a set of rules governing trade and justice that are adhered to as the "honorable" course of action in certain situations on the planet. The most striking cultural detail, significant in its variance from the Earth culture from which they appear to be descended, is the near-hostility towards women. This is believed to have stemmed from early attempts to hide and protect women from a race of aliens presupposed to be the Goa'uld who would regularly kidnap the females. Over time, this mindset morphed into a blanket hostility toward all women at all times. One local subgroup is slightly more progressive than the others in the area, holding a more positive view of women in Shavadai society.

Spirits
An alien race living on planet designate PXY-887. Individuals are basically humanoid, with tri-flanged breathing organs covering most of the face. Along with mental or psychokinetic powers of healing, the race has been observed to have the power to alter their form at will, as well as to telekinetically move other objects and people. They use both of these as their primary mechanisms of defense both on their behalf, and to protect and communicate with the Salish people living on the planet. When the Goa'uld brought the Salish to PXY-887, the planet's inhabitants drove off the Goa'uld. They took the roles and forms of the Salish's gods Xe-ls, the raven; T'kiya, the wolf; and others to peacefully coexist with the humans. They did not reveal their true form to the humans in order to let the Salish culture develop independently and at its own pace. While the complete extent of the race's powers and technology is unknown, one of the individuals made the comment that "...star travel is of no use to us". This would imply that they had some kind of space travel at one time, but that they either lost or abandoned it. Judging from their psychokinetic powers and their attitude of noninterference, one can assume that they abandoned it of their own will.

System Lords
The Goa'uld System Lords are the most powerful among the Goa'uld. The System Lords forcibly take other beings as hosts. In the past, they have fashioned themselves into gods to various indigenous populations, weaving themselves into local myths.

Taldor
The existence of the Taldor was first discovered by SGC on a mission to P3X-775. The only contact that SGC has had with the Taldor is remotely, speaking to unseen representatives. General Hammond argued for the release of SG-1 from their custody on P2A-509. Apparently, at one time the society from which the Taldor is descended had a far-flung, flourishing civilisation. A plague of unknown origin and composition began decimating their worlds. The Taldor turned to a woman who offered to help them stop the plague but it only spread further and faster. The Taldor put the woman in prison for her crimes against their people. The details of the technical level, social structure, galactic position, and current status of the Taldor's parent civilisation are unknown.

The Gadmeer
The Gadmeer where a long-dormant alien race. This advanced and peaceful race fell victim to a superior military power. They built a ship, containing their legacy of ten thousand years of civilization, in the hopes that their world would be born again, far from the reach of their enemies.

Tok'ra
An underground resistance made up of symbiotic aliens who are fighting against the Goa'uld. They are infiltrators, working by planting moles among the regimes of the System Lords. The Goa'uld Ra began the legacy of forcible abduction of humans to serve as hosts for himself and others of his race. The Tok'ra are alike to the other system lords in every way with one major exception: they do not forcibly take hosts. It is central to their creed that they will only enter into partnership with beings who volunteer for the blending. This ideological difference not only sets them against the majority of the Goa'uld and the system lords, but it acts as a braking mechanism on their numbers. The beings who volunteer for the blending are often terminally ill or aged, and so the benefits to the humanoid partner that of increased constitution and extended lifespan are not as extreme. The Tok'ra also do not make use of the sarcophagus, as it is addictive to the humanoid partners. The members of the Tok'ra take strong exception to being called Goa'uld. Average lifespan among theo Tok'ra numbers in the multiple hundreds of years, as opposed to the thousands or high hundreds. The oldest among the Tok'ra is just over 200 years old. They live in secrecy, moving from place to place along the Stargate network, one step ahead of the Goa'uld forces pursuing them. So secretive and closely-guarded is their existence that the Tok'ra have passed into legend among the Jaffa. The name "Tok'ra" is believed to mean "against Ra".

Tollan
Soon informaion about the Tollan

Touched
Inhabitants of planet P3X-797. The culture of P3X-797 is divided into two distinct groups: the Touched, and the Untouched (as per local nomenclature). The name Touched describes those inhabitants of the planet who have been contaminated with a parasitic virus which causes major changes in brain and body chemistry. The Touched exhibit animalistic behaviors including drastically lowered mentation, increased strength, and a resulting breakdown of the social structure which the Untouched maintained. Those affected by the virus could no longer function in society, and were effectively banished to the darkened half of the planet where they formed their own society complete with packs of marauders who would accost any individual that they saw. The Untouched believed that the cause of the behaviour and appearance of the Touched was caused by a curse put upon them by evil gods, or "Hilksha". The virus was cured through large doses of antihistamines, which starved the virus and brought the afflicted individual back to the same mental and physical state as the Untouched.

Unas
The legendary first Jaffa. A single member of this race was encountered on P3X-974 in a series of caverns, where it had been trapped for a thousand years or longer. The Unas are of the same species as the Goa'uld, and so was trapped in the caverns by an alien device called Thor's Hammer. Teal'c and Col. O'Neill tried to kill the creature, but its regenerative powers prevented their weapons from inflicting permanent harm. The alien was finally killed by Thor's Hammer. Much later, SGC encountered members of the Unas again, as they demanded the return of their enemy Apophis. They bombarded the iris with a neutron accelorator weapon, forcing the return of Apophis' corpse to their custody. The Tok'ra fear or deeply respect the Unas as adversaries because of the power and the sheer voracity of the race.

Unity Crystal
A silicate life form native to P3X-562. They resemble oblong crystals, and range in size from 3 cm (.81 in) to .5 m (1.6 ft) in length. They refer to themselves as "Unity", and seem to have a collective consciousness. Each crystal being gives off a low-level electromagnetic field. In lieu of physiological muscles, the entities are able to manipulate themselves and their environment using this energy field. The individual members of Unity are able to mimic other beings by manipulating this energy. When a human or Goa'uld touches one of the crystals, however, the energy is sharply discharged. The individual touching the crystal is hurled backward from the shock. In addition, the radiation released when a Unity crystal is destroyed is lethal to anyone standing nearby. From reports of one of the surviving, injured entities, SG-1 learned that the Goa'uld had earlier visited this planet. When one of the Goa'uld touched one of the crystalline entities and was killed by the resultant blast of energy, the remaining Goa'uld took action. They gathered all the Unity crystals in one spot, and opened fire with their staff weapons. This destroyed many thousands of the Unity crystals. It is unknown how many of the Goa'uld received lethal radiation from the resultant destruction.

Untouched
Inhabitants of planet P3X-797. The culture resembles ancient Greek, in particular Minoan culture: architecture, social structure, and icons of importance - most notably the promulgation of bulls' heads as items of significance. The name Untouched derives from the fact that the inhabitants of P3X-797 are "divided" into two distinct groups: the Untouched, as they name themselves; and the Touched, or those members of the Untouched who become infected with a parasitic virus which causes changes in brain and body chemistry. The Untouched believe that evil gods, named "Hilksha" by the Untouched - or uncontaminated inhabitants - cursed them with the affliction, which causes reversion back to a primal state. The disease is later cured, and the Touched returned to their families and friends among the Untouched, from information gained through research performed by Dr. Fraiser of SGC.

Vyans
Living on the planet Vyus, these people where victims to a vorlix caused by Linea, "the destroyer of worlds" which caused a severe case of amnesia. This substance also turned their elderly younger and made the younger older.

Technology

Antarctic stargate
The Beta Gate, Earth's second Stargate, was discovered in the Antarctic when O'Neill and Carter were accidentally sent there by a power overload. It was sent to Area 51 and had been used for unauthorized covert missions before being sealed by the SGC. It was removed from storage for use when the SGC Gate was transported to Thor's Asgaard ship.

Biliskner
The Biliskner is Thor's Asgaard mother ship. Enormous and powerful, it is nevertheless able to avoid detection when in orbit around the Earth. When it became infested by Replicators, it was deliberately destroyed when it entered Earth's atmosphere and crashed into the Pacific Ocean in an attempt to destroy the Replicators aboard it.

BMFB
Blast Mark Five Bomb. A portable nuclear device with approximately ? kiloton yield. The bomb casing is approximately 4 feet high with a 3 foot diameter.

Cartouche
A huge list, carved into stone on Abydos, that lays out the coordinates for the Stargate network. It was found by Dr. Jackson when he remained on the world after the departure of the original military team. The cartouche contained thousands of addresses, many of which were unusable by SGC due to stellar drift or other unknown reasons. This "intergalactic map" has further been proven to contain only a fraction of the addresses accessible through the Stargate network. This evidence supported the theory that the cartouche was not created by the race that originally constructed the Stargates.

Codex of Elements
A device for universal communication.

Death Gliders
A small two-person flying craft used by the Jaffa and the Goa'uld. The ships, known as "death gliders" to the Jaffa and as "udajeet" to the people of Abydos, have been estimated to be approximately twelve feet from wingtip to wingtip, and approximately nine feet from nose to tail. The overall shape is a slight upward arc, with the wings sweeping forward from the body. The craft are armed with laser weapons, on either side of the main body below the outsweeping wings. The craft is designed to be used either in hard vacuum or in a planetary atmosphere. The gliders hold one or two passengers under optimum conditions, with the main pilot taking the forward seat. One style of the death gliders is apparently transported with its superstructure altered the wings angled downward paralell to the fuselage so that it vaguely resembles a praying mantis.

Detonation Bomb
It is set on manual timer and when detonated, it creates a large powerful explosion.

Dial Home Device (DHD)
The dial-home device, as it has been named, is used to operate the Stargates. The DHDs are constructed of the same mineral, naquada, that is used in the Stargates' construction. The DHDs are relatively uniform in appearance, standing approximately .9 metres/3 feet high with a maximum diameter of approximately .9 metres/3 feet at the widest point and a slenderer, slightly tapering base column. The face of the device is tilted at a 35º to 45º angle and covered with a set of circles containing the 39 glyphs on the Stargate. A large, red dome at the center of the device's face is used to activate the DHD once the requisite symbols have been entered. When it was unearthed in 1920 on the Giza plateau, the Earth Stargate had no DHD that was found nearby. This lack caused years of experimentation and delays before a computerized system was juryrigged to operate the Stargate.

F.R.E.D
Field Remote Expeditionary Device

Force Field
An energy shield used by the Goa'uld, for entire ships or for individuals. The energy field apparently stops only certain things: most likely projectiles traveling above a certain speed. This is determined by witnessing a Jaffa throw a staff weapon through an engaged force shield and by later witnessing a thrown knife penetrating a shield that stopped bullets.

Glyphs
Around the circumference of the Stargate are the 39 glyphs, which are representations of constellations save one point. That one glyph is the point of origin, or a representation of the world upon which the . To operate the Stargate, seven points are needed six to precisely triangulate the destination point in 3-dimensional space, and the point of origin. The symbols differ from gate to gate, with varying amounts of duplication.

Goa'uld Nanovirus
A Goa'uld-engineered virus, carried using inorganic and organic technology, to speed the lifespans of a group of humans in order to study the human lifespan. The nanovirus was triggered by binary signals sent from a unit housed inside the base of a statue on planet P3X-8596. It is currently unknown whether a nanovirus may be "reprogrammed" once it is inside a host body, or whether external signals can only instigate a previously programmed set of directions.

Sarcophagus
A long chamber, large enough to hold a fully grown human, which acts as a rejuvenation device or a healing chamber. Use can heal even those wounds which would, under other circumstances, be considered fatal. The Goa'uld use these devices to rejuvenate their host bodies after injury or damage as well as to fight off the normal effects of ageing. While enhanced health is a benefit, the repeated use of the technology has caused addictive behaviours in humans similar to common drug addiction side effects: paranoia, hostility, emotional swings, The technology employed is unknown at this time.

Goa'uld Shock Grenade

Staff Weapon
The energy lance is the favoured weapon of the Goa'uld's warriors. Its primary design is as a sort of energy gun, discharging a yellow-hot ball of energy from the head of the weapon. The staff weapons are approximately 2 metres/6.56 feet in length, with a bulb-like apperturance at one end and a curved and flared scepter surrounding a large jewel inset in the middle at the other. The energy source is a small unit, approximately two inches high, contained in the head of the staff. The staff activates as an energy weapon by flipping a switch on the underside. The four quarters of the head on the top of the staff split and retract slightly, and the weapon is ready. It fires a ball of energy approximately 10.2 cm/4.01 in in size. An additional trigger fires the mechanism. A modified version of the blast lance is used as a ground-mounted blast cannon. The energy lance is also used in physical combat: as a blunt striking weapon, to subdue or control attackers; and in a manner more in line with the formal quarterstaff techniques known to Earth.

Long Distance Communication Device
These freestanding spheres are used, chiefly by the Goa'uld, to communicate over distances. Different sizes, ranging from as small as a billiard ball to a diameter of nearly four feet, have been observed. These globes apparently only can be used along a certain frequency, and cannot be modulated for use by others. The maximum distance that they are able to cover is unknown, as is the exact method or frequency of transmission. They can be used to communicate ship-to-ship, between distant planets, and over planetary surfaces.

Ultraviolet Shield
An energy shield that blocks untraviolet radiation, used by the Goa'uld on those planets whose environment was not sufficiently terraformed. Two units bounce a beam back and forth between them, forming a dome-shaped shield over the protected area. The shield is orange in color, and allows light to pass through; but cuts the amount of ultraviolet radiation to levels tolerable by the human body. Without the use of this shield on certain worlds, the humans are forced to live underground or in caves, emerging only at night. SG-1 encountered this technology on a world that had been partially terraformed and then left by the Goa'uld hundreds of years before. The device was not being used until the device was found and activated by Teal'c during a mission to the planet.

Stellar Craft
Goa`uld ships used for interstellar travel, troop transport, etc. There currently are two distinct classes of ship known to Earth military intelligence: Hat'ak class and "Cheops" class. Both classes share these characteristics: five quasi-striated levels, as viewed from the exterior command deck in the topmost level of the ship bays for two-man craft, the death gliders or "udajeets" Relative size of the two different kinds of ships is unknown at this time. The Hat'ak class ships can easily be extrapolated to be not much larger than the largest of the pyramids on the Giza plateau. The Hat'ak class of ship was the first encountered by the Stargate team. Pyramidal in shape, it is capable of intra- or extra-atmosphere flight. Panels on the sides retract to expose parts of the top of the cone to the open air. Whether this effect is decorative, functional, or a combination is unknown at this time. The ship is a hollowed-out pyramid and uses the Egyptian pyramids, or similar structures, as landing bases. Standard construction method is unknown, although these ships have been observed in various stages of the building process on planetary surfaces. The Cheops Class designation has been tenatively assigned by Earth analysts. It differs from the Hat'ak class in the superstructure around the middle portion of the pyramid.

M.A.L.P Unit

Miniature UAV
Miniature Unmanned Aerial Vehicle an aerial version of the MALP, engineered for greater tolerances and operations in low pressure and/or non-oxygen atmosphere. Like the MALP, it is used for preliminary exploration of new worlds. When SG-1 returned to SGC with the survivors from P3X-7763, Captain Carter sent a MUAV back through the Stargate to check on the surface conditions of the planet.

Naquada
Naquada is a mineral not native to Earth. It is similar to quartz in general structure, is highly conductive, and is more durable than Earth-quartz. This mineral is the chief proponent of the technology used by the Goa'uld.

Orb
Artifact catalog number #033077M. A spheroid artifact retrieved from planet designate P5C-353 by Col. O'Neil and the rest of SG-1. Upon initial examination, Dr. Jackson noticed the dense pattern of markings covering the item's surface. Upon the artifact's arrival and examination at SGC, the materials of its creation were analysed. Two previously-unknown elements were recorded for addition to the periodic table, and constant, minute amounts of alpha radiation were measured coming from the orb. In addition, the markings on the surface were magnified and shown to be some kind of writing. The material of the orb appears to be capable of absorbing any form of energy used against it and retask that energy for its own processes. The orb has two states: dormant, the condition in which it was found by SG-1 and active, in which the orb's configuration is altered by internal energies. Following a sharp spike in the radiation emissions coming from the orb, several spear-like arms tipped with extremely sharp spikes extend violently outward to anchor in surrounding walls, floors, or people. The orb was discovered to be a protective ark for the remainder of the aliens who had lived on P5C-353.

Personality Transfer Device
A device which can switch the personalities of any two people. Dr. Fraiser hypothesised that the device maps the neuron patterns of one person onto another, and vice versa transferring knowledge, memories, and personality. The one exception to this device is that once two personalities have been switched, they cannot be transferred directly back. A series of transfers must be used to return the personalities to their original bodies.

Ribbon Device
An energy tool used by the Goa'uld. In the form of a jewel fitten to the palm and held in place by looping strands of wire and metal which fit over the fingers and around the wrist, the tool operates on the same principles as the Stargate. When activated and directed at a target, the device produces a kinetic shock wave which can throw a full-grown human back several feet. When activated and applied directly to a target, such as holding the jewel on top of a human head, the molecules are rearranged and the target's brain is liquified from the inside out.

Sarcophogus
The Goa'uld sarcophogus is used by the Goa'ulds to regenerate themselves whenever they are injured or getting very old (to keep their youth).

Stargate Iris
The iris is a shield added onto the Stargate. It forms a barrier within 5 microns of the event horizon of the active wormhole when the iris is closed. Its purpose is to block unsanctioned arrivals through the gate. Teams returning to SGC from a mission are equipped with transmitter devices which they use to send through a encrypted code sequence. If the gate is activated and a valid code is not received, the iris is shut, and anyone attempting to come through is reconstituted directly against the iris. The iris was constructed and put into place following an incursion of Goa'uld, lead by Apophis. The U.S. military had believed that the gate only went to one destination, and further believed that the destination and possibly the gate itself had been destroyed. In at least one case, Col. Oneill's SG-1 team witnessed the local inhabitants of a world destroy a despotic leader by activating the Stargate, dialing Earth, and throwing him through without a preceding code sequence. The iris was originally constructed of titanium, and was maintained until the incident involving the singularity. The iris was reconstructed using the recently-obtained metal trinium.

Stargate
The Stargate is a teleportation device which links together a vast network of planets. The Stargate technology was introduced to Earth by the Goa'uld who called himself Ra. It is a large torus constructed of naquada, with a free-spinning inner ring incised with 39 glyphs which are used in setting the destination. The gates function by opening a stable wormhole between two gates. The points are determined by triangulating the destination point in 3-dimensional space and by specifying a point of origin. As a side effect of the harmonics produced by the gate when it cycles, objects in the vicinity vibrate and can, if fragile, shatter or disintegrate. Matter traveling through the gates is broken down into its component molecules, shot through the wornhole, and compressed and reconstituted at the destination, leaving objects covered with a fine layer of ice. The process leaves people partially to severely disoriented, as the equilibrium sense of balance is completely obliterated. The above dry recitation conceals the effects on an individual. Transgalactic travel via the gate has been likened to pulling out of a simulated bombing run in a fighter plane at eight-plus gees. For civilians, this would be like a sudden decceleration in a speeding automobile which pressed you back into your seat with eight times the pressure of gravity, only more so. Reactions to a trip through the Stargate range from minor dizziness to active nausea or unconsciousness. One nickname that the Stargate has semiaffectionately received is "puke chute". The gates must have a destination point with sufficient mass on which to fix, even with the other six points defining it: for example, a Stargate aboard a ship cannot be used as either a destination or as a point of origin unless the ship itself has as much mass a planetoid. While it is possible to have more than one gate on a planet's surface, they cannot be used for point-to-point transferrence as the coordinate specification works on a solar or a galactic scale, not on anything requiring more precision. Other names Circ Kakona "circle of woes" Byrsa people of Cartago Chiaapa'ai just about everyone else

Thor's Hammer
A device created by the Asgard which acts to safeguard the Norse descended peoples of the planet Cimmeria. The device catches all Goa'uld symbiotic beings attempting to come through the Stargate on P3X-974 and transports them to a series of underground caverns, where they are held. Only the host body and personality may pass out of the containment field. The Goa'uld is driven out of the Jaffa, and the host is left to resume his or her life free from Goa'uld influence and domination.

Transportation Rings
They can be used to transport from one set of rings to another. However, the two set of rings are programmed to be linked together so the user cannot transport to just any set of rings.

Trinium
An extremely strong, lightweight metal, first found by SG-11 on planet PXY-887. It is 100 times stronger than steel. The natives of the planet used the trinium in everything from architecture to weapons. They would ask the spirits for the "ki", then gather the mineral from the local rivers.

Zat'nik'atel
This is the personal side-arm of a Jaffa warrior. Also dubbed the "zat gun" by Col. Oneill of SG-1. It is a pistol-like weapon based on a energy discharge quite different from that of the staff weapon. One discharge causes severe pain and immobilizes the target. A second shot will kill most species, with a third vaporizing them. Many Goa'uld favor this weapon because of the "first shot" effects, as well as its small size. SGC has a number of zat'nik'atel in stock, collected by its personnel on missions into Goa'uld-held territory. SGC regularly issues them as sidearms to the various away team
