HEEMSTEDE (Neth.) - Instant Holland Almere '90 opened the best-of-five Play-Off vs. First Division-champion RCH-Pinguïns on Saturday with a convincing 11-0 shutout. When Almere wins the series, it will remain in the big league. When RCH-Pinguïns wins, it will promote, while Almere will relegate in that case.

Almere collected ten basehits, including seven off of Mexican starter Al Morales Gomez, who was relieved in the fourth inning.

Leading 2-0, Almere decided the game with a 5-run rally in the third inning.
With one out, Bart Gabriëls (error), Ivanon Coffie (walk) and Kenny Berkenbosch (single) were on base when Jurriaan Korff hit a 2-run double.
After Berkenbosch scored on a wild pitch, Giovanni Samboe hit an RBI-triple and scored himself on a single by Frank van Leeuwen to make it 7-0 in Almere's favor.
