The Panic tab

Panic Options

Here you can define some aspects of the PANIC button, like who is considered for heal spells or buffing. The PANIC button is the big blue button with the words PNC on the top left and showing your mana.

"Panic: Heal" Box Here you can set up, which units should be checked for healing, when you click the PANIC button. If the unit is checked, the unit will be considered, otherwise not. It is not possible to disable yourself.
"Panic: Buff" Box In this box you can define, which units should be considered for buffing. This setting is to exclude group of players from being buffed on the large scale, e.g. all raid members. Please note that a unit is only valid for receiving a buff it is checked here and in the buffs section of the specific buff. See also the note at The Buffs tab
Cure Units with 'PANIC' If this setting is enable, pressing the PANIC button will also cure units of debuffs. This only works however if you have the AddOn "decursive" installed.
Use 'PANIC' behavior for unmapped buttons If checked, then all unmapped buttons in the PANIC spell assign will automatically trigger the PANIC routine. If not checked, unmapped buttons will not do anything.

Panic Behavior

In this section you can define how the behavior of the PANIC healing should be. To fully understand all the options here, please first read How the PANIC action action. Note that these "behavior templates" are only used for in combat healing!

On the very top you can choose which "behavior template" you want to use. There are two predefined templates and three custom templates, which you can set up according to your likings. The predefined templates are called "full spell range" (default) and "trash healing" (used when fighting small mobs). A key can be assigned to easily switch between these settings in the keyboard setup.

The rest of the page describes the template. Predefined templates cannot be modified, but the custom templates can be fully created and set up by yourself.

On the left side is a box labeled Classes. Select a class here to assign the spells to the emergency levels for this class. The class name will be in red letters if no spells are assigned to this class. Note that if you create custom templates, you have to set them up for every single class.

Next to it, on the rigt side, is a box labeled Emergency Levels. These levels define how "wounded" a unit is. The numbers in brackets is the health in precent which the class requires to fall into a certain level. Please note that these percentage values differ per class. Next to the the levels are spells to be casted. If a spell is in yellow, it means that this spell is casted "forcefully".

By selecting the spells of an emergency labels, the spells will show up in the box labeled Spell Configuration. Spells here will cast in the order given (first top one, then the next one). Note that spells are only casted if not already active (e.g. renew), unless you check the box "foce cast". If ClickHeal cannot detect if a spell is already active or not (e.g. Flash Heal), it will keep casting this spell, until the unit is "raised" to a different emergency level (e.g. from "fair" to "wounded"). Do not forget to hit the "Update" spell to save your changes!

Some tips to set up your own templates:

"Spell 1", "Spell 2" and "Spell 3"

The buttons "Spell 1", "Spell 2" and "Spell 3" allow you to assign spells and other actions to your mouse buttons. For more info please see "Assigning spells and actions to mouse buttons".

The "Defaults" button restores the default settings for this section.

How the PANIC action works

When clicking on the PANIC button (or otherwise invoking the PANIC action), these actions are executed:

  1. First, units in party and raid (including pets) are checked if they require healing. If so, they are healed.
  2. Then, if no healing is required, all units are checked for curing (decursing). If a unit has malevolent effects, they will be removed.
  3. If no healing or curing is required, units are checked for missing buffs or buffs which need to be refreshed.

The curing and buffing part are quite trivial (more about buffing in The Buffs Tab), however the healing part is more sophisticated. So what follows is a logical breakdown of it.

  1. First, units are scanned and put into "emergency levels" (healthy, wounded, fair, poor, critic), depending on their class and health. The boundaries for each level differ per class, so a mage is put "faster" (with higher health) into the fair category than a warrior would. Per default all units in your party and raid (including yourself and all pets) are scanned, but this can be finetuned in the Panic Options.
  2. If a unit is found which requries healing, ClickHeal checks if your avatar or the "neediest" unit are in combat. If both are not, then the so called "heal up" is triggered. This will bring the unit back to full health with as little mana required as possible (in general, "Slow" heals will be used for this. Overhealing will be prevented as much as possible.
  3. If the unit is in combat, ClickHeal checks which "healing behavior" is selected. The healing behavior can be one of "Full range", "Trash healing" or a "Custom" behavior. In this "behavior template" it will then look up which spell should be cast. This is done as follows:
    1. ClickHeal looks up the class to be healed
    2. Then ClickHeal looks up the correspoding emergency level (healthy, wounded, fair, poor, critic)
    3. Then it takes the first spell of the list and checks, if it is already "active" on the unit (e.g. already shielded, or already "renewed"). If this is the case, it takes the next spell in the list and checks for the same, until ClickHeal finds a spell or runs out of spells. If second happens (it runs out of spells), the next "neediest" unit will be healed.
    4. You can force ClickHeal to cast a spell, even if it is already active. This is esp required for the druid's Regrowth, this this would not be casted if already active.
