Whenever I have time to spare I try to write music. The school of the Netherlands especially inspires me. My composition teacher (Joost Kleppe) has described my music as modern Renaissance (do not confuse with new age). Members of the Utrechts StudentenKoor en Orkest (USKO) have performed two of my compositions and on June 12th "De Haven" was performed by the Utrechts Blazers Ensemble.

  • Feest. A simple birthday song for piano and singers I wrote for my son when he got four. My girlfriend wrote the text (in Dutch).
  • Berceuse Presque Nègre. A piece for piano and tenor with text from Paul van Ostaijen (in Dutch). Duration: 30 seconds. Performed in Utrecht on May 28th 1996. Available on CD.
  • Quator à l'homme armé. A violin quartet based on the l'homme armé theme. Duration: 3.30 minutes. Performed in Utrecht on may 28th 1996. Available on CD.
  • De Haven. Concert for double wind ensemble. Duration: 4.30 minutes. Performed in Utrecht on June 12th 1998. I wrote the following text for the program: "I am much influenced by the school of the Netherlands and I felt challenged to write a piece that combines polyphonic with monophonic elements. I came upon the two main themes at sea, one in Antwerpen and the other on the Isle of Man, hence the name."
