TCP/IP networking got me into using OS/2 version 1.1 (HP Lan Manager) at a time when Microsoft was still concerned with improving things (sec).
Later on, I got to like OS/2 version 2 over Windows 3.0, as did everybody who cared to take a good look.
At the time of Windows 3.11, OS/2 v.3 was still much better: it could do all Windows could do, and a whole lot more.
OS/2 version 4 appeared when Windows 95 was kicking up a lot of dust, and I got stuck with something of a hard choice: do I want my operating system to be A-OK or do I want access to the newest applications. I chose Warp, even if my clients' demands made using Windows absolutely necessary.
Still, for my own enjoyment I prefer OS/2. Sure, my friends can't help laughing, but in return, I smile as they are re-installing Windows for the umpteenth time....
