Victor Armand Chambellan was a painter of historical scenes, landscapes and portraits. He was a pupil of Charles François Daubigny and Antoine Jean Gros at the École des Beaux-Arts that he entered in 1819. Between 1835 and 1844 he exhibited at the Salon in Paris. He died in 1845, only 35 years old.
