The Jordaan is a lively, picturesque, local, authentic, safe and friendly neighbourhood, scattered between and around the Amsterdam canals. It is just off the noisy commercialized tourist zone but with everything right on your doorstep: small streets and squares, tree-bordered canals, loads of monuments, a variety of small restaurants, bars, terraces and all sorts of shops (amongst which supermarkets, bakery, eveningshop, laundromat etc.). There is a streetmarket around the corner every Saturday (also organic food) and Monday (also fleamarket). The Central Train Station is only a 10-minutes-walk away. You can get everywhere easily by foot but if you prefer also by public transport.

	Aadrians apartment is situated in a 17th century National Monument in the Jordaan-area, part of the old historical heart of Amsterdam, 500 meters from the Anne Frank house.
