Frogging and starting an new thing

I finished the baret and than frogged it, it was way too small and didn't really look like a baret. I guess I didn't do enough increases. No pictures, I'm sorry.

I did start a new big project.
The red cardigan is too wide for me now (I lost a lot of weight) and I don't like the way it looks, it really shows the way it was knitted (over three years). So I threw it out. I found some lovely yarn at Wibra (a very cheap textiles store in Holland). It's green, brown and ecru. I choose a pattern from a 70's HEMA knittingbook I picked up at the thriftstore and started knitting it yesterday.
The yarn may be cheap (1.50 euro a skein) and only 25 % wool, it feels really soft and comfy. I'm looking forward to wearing this cardigan. But first the knitting, I'm only halfway the back...

Pointsettia table runner

I used the pattern for the mid-nov KAL to make a tablerunner.
I'm not sure I like it. It needs some finishing, lining on the back and a fringe, but I think it will end up waiting in the cupboard until next christmas...

Slow knitting in the round

No pictures yet, but I'm trying my first knitting in the round on double point needles on this pattern. I think I'm getting the hang of it now, but I had to frog a few times. It's especially difficult, when you forget to change needles and end up with the whole round on two needles. I don't know how I managed to get into that mess, but I got stuck with two needles neatly stitched together!
Anyway, a few centimeters of round knitting done and I'm getting the hang of it. The pattern says it's a quick knit, but these days I can't seem to be able to find time to sit down and knit. so it will take me some time to get it finished.
Also I'm still trying to get the Braching Out Scarf done. I was half way, so it would be a waste not to finish it. But again... so many projects (also baking, birthday, redecorating DD's bedroom etc.)

Christmas Tree

Put the tree up yesterday. That's tradition in our house, not before, but as soon as Sinterklaas is over. As you can see, I love a very full tree.

I also finished the dec KAL.

Ready for Sinterklaas!

I finished all the scarves. Thirteen in total. The leaning ladder scarve however is going into the cupboard, since I decided not to give it to my MIL. It's too short and I doubt she will like it anyway. Dropping that plan, I could also drop the scarf for my FIL, because they were the only two people to get one on Sunday. The other twelve are for Saturday.
I put the Branching Out scarf on hold too, because it was to complicated to make in such a short time, I kept making mistakes and wasn't enjoying it very much.
If you see this bunch, you know I have been kind of knitting-crazy these weeks ....

I made a mess of my photographs today, so I decided not to post seperate pictures of the scarves I finished after my last post. I have no desire to unwrap them all...

So now everything is ready for the Sinterklaasweekend.
Made some salads (salmon and ??-huzaren in dutch) for both days. I wanted to make something new and fancy, but these are old-time favourites, that I can whip up almost without thinking. Good enough for now and I know my family likes them.
