How well we seem to progress, Mankind!
What magnificent developments we appear to make,
Whilst words such as 'adapt', 'augment', 'expand',
Appear as extensions to existing foundations.
Original material? First thoughts?
Today these lie embedded in adaptations,
Augmented by the newest technologies,
Expanded through value-added concepts.
So the Earth may appear to grow larger,
And Mankind the more in control-
With increased intelligence, advancing...
But how deep are the layers of snow?
How far do we fall before we return
To matters of real substance?
