Of Seasons...
--------------------

The seasons: how they affect us all, all the life on this planet
That we call, or choose to call, 'home'.
The natural seasons, that is: but of what others?
What other seasons?

The seasons as they appear on another planet?
What are these?
Do they invoke feelings, or actions?
Do they result in Life?

And what of the seasons expressed in evolutionary terms -
On the scale of tens of thousands of years,
They invoke change, is this evolution?
If so, is this progress?

What of any extraterrestial 'seasons'?
In the infinity outside our Universe,
How long are the seasons, there?
Dictated by a dying star?

How many seasons are there, in our Year?
There's young Spring, and joyful Summer
And then Autumn, with it's reflections and our memories
Which fade into distance as we approach our winter.

But what of our Lives? How many seasons exist in a Lifetime?
Just birth, youth, adulthood and final decay?
How can ones' Life be so limitedly described
When so much happens within its' duration?

What of the renewal, the replenishment that one can find
In a new discovery? Or in a new perspective?
Just when winter is over, Spring bounces in yet again
But an experienced one, asking questions of Summer.

And as this extra season approaches, maybe an extra Life's extension
How best to make use of it, how best to enjoy it?
A new dimension, revealed, take hold of it while one can:
As one eventually has to accept that there'll be another Autumn

How long can one prolong this new Summer?
How much can one plan, and accomplish,
When you don't know what the weather will be in this new year?
Trust to Life's wonders, but take on Life's tradegies - can one?

Let us make good in the oncoming Autumn, whilst ability allows us
Not thinking of the approaching final Winter
No, this must not enter one's mind:
For that will be the last season that one will not want to know.
