the Cycle of Life

Of cycles...
------------

It begins with infancy, where protected innocence implies dependence
Which reduces with progessive growth
Into Youth, which introduces communication and learning
And a development of habit and character, and strength
Which prepares one for the onset
Of adult Life, beginning with Discovery and Experience
And then Advancement, Promotion and Opinion,
Which leads to Bias, Discrimination and Distortion,
At which point the origin of Truth is forgotten.
After this, even the memory lies - and functionality
Together with efficiency, decreases, as age still yet increases,
To a point where a sense of uselessness, an impossibility to advance,
A set opinion, it's grounding no longer understood,
An inability to keep up with change and discovery,
Unchangeable habits, and a negative growth as one loses grip,
And an increased dependence make one and others wonder,
What was the innocence, where was the beginning?
And then finally, indirectly, through death,
You renew the process through decay into Mother Earth.
In such a cycle, is there a point of origin?
Was there ever an end, will there ever be a beginning?
