Curiosity

Curious.
--------

You go waltzing through open doorways
Just to see what's on the other side
And when you discover the secrets
Of each room, as you turn on the light,
You expand your realm of experience
And at the same time
Your level of defence
Against that which Life has to offer.

But still man's eternal quest for knowledge
Drives you on to further adventure
Up as far as the limits your mind imposes
Ever looking, never touching
Always avoiding involvement and injury.
You live in a balance of reality
Curiosity compelling you
While defences control you.

Then a door opens of it's own accord
And the being on the other side
Says to you, before you turn on the light,
Now that I see what I could lose,
I really want to win...
