Archaeology here is specifically maritime archaeology. The Centre for Maritime Archaeology (CMA) is part of the
School of Environmental Sciences, which is within the Faculty of Life and Health Sciences. The Centre is jointly funded by
the University of Ulster and the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland. It is housed in the Centre for Coastal and Marine
Research, an interdisciplinary research centre, covering aspects of coastal and marine research including Quaternary environmental change, coastal
processes, coastal management, marine habitat mapping and maritime archaeology.
An MSc in Maritime Archaeology as a distance-learning degree is offered as a joint course by the University of Ulster and Flinders University in
Australia. The MSc is the only post-graduate qualification in Maritime Archaeology offered by a university on the island of Ireland. Details on
course content and application procedures are available from:
campusone.ulster.ac.uk or contact Colin Breen
(M.Sc. Course Coordinator) cp.breen@ulster.ac.uk or Tel (+44) 028-70-323093.

college, offers a one-year M.A. degree course in Heritage Publication
. This aims 'to provide archaeologists, local historians and students interested in Ireland’s heritage with a training in publication and presentation
skills in different media'. Topics covered range from PowerPoint to writing technical manuals and from typography to re-enactment. Another relevant
course in Mary Immaculate College is an M.A. in Local History.

the Coming of the Normans' in the Old Irish course, and mediaeval archaeology is taught as part of mediaeval history. When visited in August 2010
the website was in need of updating, with many broken links.
