Geldrop

These pictures were made during a recent evening walk through my home town Geldrop, a town close to Eindhoven, in the southern part of The Netherlands, while trying out my new digital camera, the HP Photosmart. Hope you enjoy them!

photo4.jpg: The new shopping centre

photo5.jpg: A beautiful bike I saw in front of a shop

photo7.jpg: Nice toy car models in a shop window, photograhed through the glass

photo12.jpg: A little house behind the "castle" in Geldrop

photo14.jpg: A little pond next to the house

photo15.jpg: Ducks in the pond making a run for it

photo17.jpg: The back side of the "castle". There are too much trees in front of the other side of it for a nice photo unfortunately

photo9.jpg: The greenhouse next to the "castle".

photo19.jpg: Old factory being torn down. Even darker.

photo18.jpg: Big post office van about to collect the days mail

photo2.jpg: My car. Nothing special, but it's mine.

These pictures were made with the original HP PhotoSmart digital camera. They were saved as .JPG and then optimized by the HP postprocessing software, which writes the optimized pictures as .TIF or as .BMP. I chose .TIF and later converted the .TIF files back to .JPG with Graphic Workshop. To see the difference between optimized and unoptimized, look at the optimization comparision page, or click here to see all the unoptimized pictures.

I did not change anything in the camera settings, I just used the defaults and let it figure out the exposure time and flash on its own. The resolution used was the middle one, so I could put 16 pictures in the camera's 2MB memory.
