Domino - The Fortress game

The Fortress game is a block game.

Number of players
The game is for 3 or 4 players.

Time
about 5 to 10 minutes

Materials
One domino game with stones 0-6.

Object of the game
The first player to domino wins the game.

The deal
All bones are shuffled face down. With three players, each player draws 9 dominoes. There will be one tile left. With four players each draws seven dominoes. To start, the player with the double 6 puts it in the middle. When playing with three, the player with the double 6 picks up the remaining tile. If, with three players, the double 6 is the domino left, it is put in the middle and the player with the double 5 plays first.

The rules

1. All bones played must be played to a free end and must match numbers.
2. Doublets are placed crosswise as usual.
3. From any double, all four sides may be played to.

The end
The game ends when one player goes domino (plays his last bone) or when all players have consecutively passed.

Strategy
Strategies are basically the same as in The Block game:

• Play your doubles first.
• Keep your own hand as varied as possible.
• Try to deduce what stones other players have in hand.
• Try to block other players with a series you've got lots of.
