This model shows an early Tiger 1 on the Russian Front that have got a partial upgrade in a hasty frontline workshop. It got some mid-production additions like the Zimmerit and the new roadwheels. Because the Tiger had to roar out of the workshop in a hurry to do some serious T-34 beating, the turret's commanders cupola was not changed and was the Feifel system disabled but left in place.
In the Armorama forum thread "Early Tiger Late War" we discussed this kind of 'mish mash' Tigers and there were even some pictures posted of a steel wheeled Tiger (with Zimmerit applied) but had a Early Tiger turret mounted on a late chassis. Aah.. in love and war...

Building the Tiger1 was a sort of mish mash also. It has parts from 2 different Tamiya Tiger 1 kits and the Zimmerit is the old Verlinden resin set.
