on windows XP and before, you can/ must set the derouteIP to a ip adress in your local network that does NOT exist. on windows 7 and further, you MUST set it to an IP adress that DOES exist. (for example, your internet modem's internal address. but it MUST NOT be any (the) IP adress of the machine where the redbaron server runs. Reason for this: apparently windows 7 and newer check if the derouteIP exists. if it does not, it silently ignores the routing of packets to this nonexisting IP adress, as a result the pilot never gets NETted out, he/she can continue to fly without problems. do or die.
