Aerocar (USA)
Aerocar supplies lubricants especially made for modellers, both model
railways and radio-control. On this page only the model railway
products are listed:
- ACT-1111 Gel-type gear lubricant, use on gears and worms. The manufacturer
claims a very good reduction of wear and friction.
- ACT-3753 Conducta-lube for lubricating electrical contacts. This is a
conductive oil. Aerocar is one of the very few manufacturers offering
this type of product.
- Motor bearing lube, as the name says, use on motor bearings.
Available in low-viscosity oil (ACT-2002) for small scales (Z, N, TT, HO) and
high-viscosity oil (ACT-2222, 2752) for large scales (O, I and G)
- Track cleaner fluid, ACT-6006 and 6116 (0.5 oz. and 1 oz. bottles)
Atlas
(USA)
Atlas lubricants
Atlas offers the Tomix track cleaning car in a different livery and
some lubricants, which seem to be made by Aerocar.
Aztec
(USA)
Aztec supplies track cleaning cars and DCC-decoder ready frames (US
models only).
Bachmann
(USA/China)
Bachmann supplies lubricants that are originally meant to be used for
their own model train, but seems to be suitable for other makes as
well. As witht he Atlas products mentioned above it seems that
Bachmann's lubricants are made by a specialist supplier.

Ballistol (Germany)
Ballistol supplies weapon oil, the manufacturer claims that this stuff
has many, many uses.
Centerline (USA)
Centerline makes track cleaning cars and supplies 'Goo Gone' cleaning
fluid.
Dr.
Tillwich (Germany)
A german manufacturer of precision lubricants, originally aiming at
instrument and clock makers. Some products are now marketed through
model railway shops. In the USA , Dr. Tillich's products are marketed
under the 'Etsyntha' brand.
- B52 grease for use on metal gears and worms
- Sorte 3-5 oil, for use on metal bearings
- A number of other oils, greases and coatings, not yet available
to the modeller.

Kato
(Japan)
This well-known model train manufacturer supplies a motor bearing oil
and 'Uniclean' track cleaning fluid. The oil supplied by Kato is
electrically conductive and could be used to lubricate electrical
contacts. A small drop in the bearing cups does wonders!
LaBelle (USA)

LaBelle has a range of quality lubricants. Of interest
are the
following:
- 102 (gear oil, high viscosity and 'tacky')
- 106 (white grease with Teflon®, use on worms and gears)
- 107 oil for bearings (larger scales, H0 and up)
- 108 oil for use on motor bearings.
- 111 race oil, use on motor bearings, thinner than # 108. Apply with watchmaker's oiler.
- 134 Powdered PTFE (Teflon®) could be used instead of graphite
powder on magnetic-action couplers and has many other applications.
Micro-Trains
(USA)
Micro-Trains supplies the excellent magnetic-action couplers and
graphite-powder lubricant to keep them functioning as they were meant to be.
Nye (USA)
Nye supplies a wide range of lubricants, most are aimed at watchmakers
and instrument applications. Some products are of use for railway
modellers. Of interest are Nyoil, Nyoil II, PP269 low-viscosity oil
(bearings), MM176HV high-viscosity oil (larger scales) and 362HB grease.
Peco
(UK)
Makes 'Electrolube' and a soft foam servicing cradle. 'Electrolube' is
now replaced by 'Powerlube', a new product with similar characteristics.

Robbe
(Germany)
Robbe supplies two oils (one for metal only and a plastic compatible
silicone oil) and a grease containing PTFE (Teflon ®).
- 5530 silicone oil for use on plastic bearings
- 5531 oil for use on metal bearings only
- 5532 precision grease with PTFE (Teflon ®) added, safe for
use on
plastics

Sambol (Germany)
Sambol supplies a model railway track cleaner and weapon oil, suitable
for lubrication of model train motor and axle bearings. Sambol also has
a wide range of cleaning solvents and ultra-sonic cleaning devices.

Super
Lube (USA)
Super Lube supplies a grease and and oil containing PTFE, both are
plastic-compatible and even food-grade quality. Products are also sold
under other brand names, like LocTite.

Tomix (Japan)
Tomix offers cleaning fluid for use on tracks and wheels, a very
affordable and effective track cleaning car and a wheel cleaning track.

Uhlenbrock
(Germany)
Uhlenbrock offers a soft foam servicing cradle, the 'V' shaped groove
holds your model in more than one position. Available in 3 sizes,
including one for larger scales.

lubricants, everything you need except 'conducta lube'.
