Using a strong magnet you can search for artifacts in rivers and canals. Quality of the finds can be very good. This is an iron jaws (or jews) harp dating from the 17th century. The metal spring is missing but you can still see where it was attached. Date of this find: april 29, 2009.

A ten-sided bronze ring with inscriptions, size 20 mm. It is a so called amulet ring which is designed to give the owner luck and protection. It is marked with the following pseudo text: + VV N VV H VV N V\ VI V\. This ring is dated between 1150 and 1300 AD. Found on april 18th, 2009.

A larger silver button, measuring 15 mm. On the back are 3 hallmarks: one with the maker's initials 'IK' (just above the loop), one for the city of Schoonhoven and the letter 'R' which stands for 1789. Found march 31, 2009.

A bronze celtic "AVAVCIA" coin of the eburonian tribe depicting a horse. This coin dates from 40-20 BC. This is the only celtic coinage found north of the great Dutch rivers Maas and Rhine. Size is 13mm and weight about 3 gram. Found march 7, 2009.
