To get your ' My Sony ID" go to this page:

and Click on the Big Fat Blue button (picture below, circled red):

STEP 1 - ENTER YOUR PRODUCT SERIAL (picture below, circled below).

The serial you should have received on a blue leaflet with your Librie. the product number is the stickered on this leaflet.
It has 24 numbers which you must enter without any hyphens. It look something like the picture above in the red square.

STEP 2 - START REGISTRATION PROCESS

-choose the first option (the second is if you already have an id I think and you just wanted to add your librie)

STEP 3 - ACCEPT TWO DISCLAIMERS

STEP 3- FILL OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION

a) basically you can fill out anything as long as you keep to the format of the form. Only your e-mail is important
b) choose something from the dropdown boxes other it will no accept the form!
c) E-MAIL ADDRESS IS USED TO VERIFY AND ACTIVATE YOUR SONY ID
d ) fill out the Japanese characters. I just copy/past some from the form itself. SEE THE TWO BLUE SQUARES in picture below

ERRORS:
- a red error message is mandatory and you have to change your input info.
- a blue error you can ignore!!

Here you get the blue error-just ignore it by pressing the 'big fat blue button again. (it says your postalcode
does not match your address...(duh!)

Confirm your input information

CHECK YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS YOU NEED IT to verify and activate your account. The rest is not important.

STEP 4 -ENTER ID LOGIN AND PASSWORD

notes:
- in the first field you enter a ID you want to use.
- in the second field enter your password. You need a number and character combination for the password. if you get a red error message is change your combination.
- in the third field re-enter your password.
- the last to fields are your secret question and answer if you loose your password

if you get a BLUE error after entering your password, RE-ENTER it and it will be accepted
 

STEP 5 - CONGRATULATIONS

your are done. You will get a verification e-mail of Sony, otherwise I think your registration will expire in
24h.

NOTE: You will get some sort of poll asking all sorts of questions hereafter, just finish it and your id should be working.
(I forgot to copy those pages for you, but you should be OK from here). I THINK you MUST fill out the POLL!

go to your Librie page and for example try to download the newest firmware.

Click on the link as shown in the picture below to get the new firmware.
