Fighting Romans

Vetera was taken, but how did the revolt eventually end?
Not good, I'm affraid, for Civilis and his man, that is. And, being Dutch, I feel for this brave man - The first freedom fighter of the Netherlands.

The story continues with the Roman counterattack. Of course, they would not give in to these Barbarians.
But before he lost the revolt, he gained a greatness never seen before in these parts of the Empire: as you will see he attack Trier (another big Roman city at the Northern border) without much success, Cologne liberated itself. Then Civilis turned on Batavodurum and burned it to the ground and retreats to The Island (The Betuwe) and finally enters peace negotiations, which he came out of really well.
