The 136kHz Amateur Radio band can be found in the Low Frequency part of the radio spectrum as indicated in the diagram below. This is a spectral measurement from actual LF radio signals. Each signal shows as a vertical line. The length of each line is a measure of the signal strength.

You can enlarge the picture by double-clicking on the picture.

Communication in the 136 kHz band is mainly done by Morse code telegraphy (CW or A1A) both by hand or very slowly (QRS CW). Slow morse code telegraphy can be decoded by computer using FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) software like Spectogram (see the link below for more information).
