Existenciële abstractie
Wanneer men zich in de gedetermineerde zone bevindt, wordt de geest gedwongen zich mee te
laten voeren in een 'fictieve' ruimte. Het gebrek aan werkelijkheid wordt evenredig
gecompenseerd door toevoeging van de droom die zowel een zalige als een verstikkende vorm
kan aannemen.
Met welk gevoel men ook uit de zone terugkeert, men ontkomt niet aan de gedachte ergens
geweest te zijn waarnaar men slechts met abstractie kan terug kijken. Men keerde terug uit
een 'ruimte' die, volgens de standaard der werkelijkheid, niet bestond en waarvan iedere
beschrijving pover afsteekt tegen de ervaring.
During this one day festival the 'Sound Moving' installation was present. Along the stairs -
deeply going downwards to the base floor of V2 - 16 loudspeakers were installed. This line
of speakers from the top down to the base created a zone of moving sound (two noise
breathing sounds moving contra directional up and down) that was intending to give a
special effect when walking the stairs. However the setup looked very good, the result was
not very spectacular. But, each time again is an experiment and after a while there are
references to other experiments that worked out very good. It seems to be hard to combine
'good looking' with a successful result.
