A modem-file is a set of commands that will translate the computers orders to setup a connection into a set of modem-specific commands that will actually get the job done. The specifications for the scripting are according to the Apple ModemScriptingGuide and the modem specific orders are described in GSM-spec 7.07 chapter 10.
