GPRS for MacOS instructions

What is GPRS?
Setup for MacOS X
Setup for MacOS 9, 8, 7
Specification of the modem-file
The goal of this page is to get you a GPRS-phone that shows up as a communications-device in your Mac.
The essence of this problem is that six variables play a role and only 10% of the combinations result in a solution. These variables are:
- Your Mac (PBG4, iBook, PBG3, ....)
- A port-device (RS424, USB, PCMCIA, IRDA or BlueTooth)
- A cable to go with your phone (DB8-serial-cable, USBcable, PCMCIA-slot or air;-)
- Your MacOS (X or 9,8,7)
- A driver for the MacOS/port-device/telephone combination (OS9-USB-driver for P280, ......)
- A GPRS-telephone (Motorola P260, P280, V66, nokia , ericsson, nec, mitsubitsie, siemens S45, option-card, merlin-card, .....)
For now I'm not sure how to represent this, so stay tuned. Your best option is likely Irda for now as it does not need a driver or cable and works in OSX and OS9.
