Meihuazhuang or Plum Blossom Boxing

This ancient system of strong and powerful Chinese boxing is said to date from as early as 200 BC and gives "root" to many modern techniques.

Meihuazhuang was originally practised on top of young Plum tree trunks driven into the ground. This would of course mean very good focus on footwork ,balance and practicality. Even though we do not nowadays practise on top of the trees, the footwork and patterns of force remain the same.

The style is still practised quite widely in China and outside of China the leading instructor is Master WANG,Zhizhong who ,with his student Huimin Zhao, is based in America but keeps contact closely with the schools in Europe where he travels each year.
