This page is meant to introduce and invite you to the Amazonian rain forest,
its people, its medicinal plants, its animals and its shamanism.,
to offer a place for truth seekers, to meet, to learn, to share.
We hope this might do something to save the forest and the dignity of its people,
You will be able to stay there, with the local people, without any commercial agent or mediators.
There you will have the possibility to see the jungle in a safe way with the local people.
You will also have the possibility to meet different shamans and curandero's, mestizo,
and to seek healing and knowledge about the healing plants, animals and other spiritual energies
that reside there, on a non-commercial, fair trade basis.
We try to be self sufficient and cultivate our own food in an ecological way,
there is a huge garden surrounded by virgen forest, lots medicinal plants, entheogens, fruit trees,
There is the possibility to retreat, more or less as long as you like.
"Sarita Colonia" is about 70 km (48mls) from Iquitos by road, carretera Nauta, km 66,
from there it is a small walk for about 20 minutes.
It is about one and a half hour ride by bus from Iquitos, buses go regular (every 45 min)
throughout the day, there are taxis and minibusses too.
There is an abundance of fruit trees; coconuts, mango, papaya, avocado, oranges, mandarin,
lemon, sacha inchi, and many, many more. Lots of herbs and medicinal plants.
Small houses to stay, a kitchen, fresh water from the creek with a little pond to swim and a small fish pond,
No shops around.
We hope the project will improve the lives of the local people and visitors in different ways.
Poverty is still very serious in Peru.
We hope that visitors develop greater consciousness of Amazonia,
its endless beauty and richness, and cultivate respect.
Visitors can learn about the medicinal plants in the of the garden and forest.
Trips here also enable visitors to get in touch with entheogens like ayahuasca, San Pedro, Coca, Psychotria,
Huambisa, Iboga and more, to explore their value and healing properties.

The place already had the name "Sarita Colonia", before we started here,
We didn't change the name. Sarita Colonia is a not by the church recognised saint, who lived from 1926 to 1940 in Perú.
She is also revered by non catholics and in the first place patron saint of the poor,
prostitutes, homosexuals, transvertites, and prisoners, lesbians, lawbreakers.

Don't go out in the forest on your own: you will get lost. They will find you for sure,
but you might have a scary tine, before you are found.
. The water is clean, but to be sure you can cook it.
Don't bring plastic bottles or tins. Wherever eco-tourist go, they leave a trail of that plastics ?!
You have to walk in boots all the time because of the mud, bugs and snakes.
These can be bought for $4.00 or rented in Iquitos
at Mad Micks, near the Plaza del Armas.
The corrupting power of the western "civilization" is enormous.
Our western civilization does have a strong corrupting effect on other cultures. Please, please be aware of that.
Be sensitive to the impact you can have, when you arrive and after you leave.
Remember in Peru not everything happens in the expected time. Be patient. In the end it always works out.
