Yugoslav side FK Crvena Zvezda, European Champion Clubs' Cup winners in 1990/91, 
will face a side from Estonia, Belarus, Latvia or the Republic of Ireland in the 
Qualifying Round. The UEFA Task Force, meeting today in Geneva, has confirmed 
that clubs from Yugoslavia will be allowed to take part in the coming season's 
UEFA club competitions. The other Yugoslav side FK Vojvodina, who are unseeded, 
will play one of Celtic FC, FC Spartak Trnava, SK Sigma Olomouc or Ujpesti TE in 
the Qualifying Round, to be played on 12 and 26 August 1999. The Task Force 
ascertained that the various organisational and logistical requirements to stage 
international matches in Yugoslavia were fulfilled, thus enabling the teams in 
question to enter the 1999/2000 club competitions. Furthermore, international 
air flights to and from Yugoslavia are expected to resume shortly. FC Steaua 
Bucuresti, European Champion Clubs' Cup winners in 1989, will play VPS Vaasa, 
Portadown FC, FC Shamkir or FC Levadia Maardu.

Bosnian clubs excluded

The Bureau of the Committee for the UEFA Club Competitions, which also met in 
Geneva this afternoon, therefore confirmed the list of clubs taking part in the 
UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup. This list does not include clubs from Bosnia 
and Herzegovina, following the UEFA Emergency Committee's decision earlier this 
month not to admit them to the 1999/2000 club competitions, as the qualifying 
tournament involving clubs from the Football Federation of Bosnia and 
Herzegovina and "Herzeg-Bosnia" was recently cancelled.  As a result of the 
exclusion of clubs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the entire list of participants 
starting out in the club competitions has had to be slightly modified. In the 
UEFA Cup, K. Lierse SK (Belgium) and FC Dukla Banská Bystrica (Slovakia) - both 
of whom have qualified via their domestic cup competition - go directly into the 
first round, and will not have to contest qualifying-round matches. The draw for 
the UEFA Cup will be covered live on http://www.uefa.com/ from 12.00 noon CET 
tomorrow.
