Ikea Availability Check
ikeaavailabilitycheck.user.js - install as Greasemonkey
User Script.
Scenario
Say, you want to buy a certain kind of Bunk Bed from one of the Ikea stores near you, but it appears to be out of stock for a loooong period. Checking back every few days become tedious, as you have to manually select every store in turn to see if the item is in stock. That's what this script wants to solve: the availability information is displayed right on the product details page, for any item of the Ikea store. No more need to select and click a dozen times!
The script
This script works on all product detail pages of the Ikea.com catalog, where the product availability check pull-down is found.
The script reads all departments from the pull down and checks for availability of the current product. The results are summarized in a table just above the pull down element.
The script was tested on the Dutch and US catalogs. It also works on other local sites, as long as these do have a on-line catalog available. Results are shown in the local language.
Changelog
Version 1.02 / 20071016 - updated 'include' url for changed ikea site - tweaked layout - added some robustness if page layout changes Version 1.01 / 20070212 - truncate long availability lines (Canada store) Version 1.00 - initial release
