SUMMARY
If you see multiple mouse cursor trails in DESQview when using QEMM,
version 5.0 or 6.0, and have the mouse connected to either the serial
port or mouse port, chances are the port selection is not correct. (For
example, this problem occurs with DESQview, version 2.24, using QEMM,
version 6.0.)
You can use the following steps to set the mouse properly for DESQview,
version 2.24:
• Type cd\dv to change to the
DESQview subdirectory.
• Type setup, and press ENTER twice.
• Press M to select the mouse.
• Press 2 to select Microsoft Mouse.
• For port selection, make the appropriate selection:
0 = add on board
1 = port 1
2 = port 2
MORE INFORMATION
If the Microsoft serial mouse is connected to a mouse port in a PS/2
style machine, you may see a trail of red cursors inside the windows
of DESQview 386 when you use QEMM 5.0. This is not a problem with the
mouse software. This problem can occur if you have selected "serial"
in the port selection for the mouse when you set up DESQview. If you
select "add-on board" for the mouse port selection in the DESQview
Setup program, the mouse cursor displays normally.
