Fiwihex is a development company based on proprietary know-how (patents). We develop innovative energy-saving products to prototype stage. More about us Contact us.
On a flat surface, one has a heat transfer coefficient to air of about 20 W/m2K.On a fine wire, say a wire of 0.1 mm Ø, one can reach 300 W/m2K. Fine wires have the same cost per square meter as flat surfaces. So, why are not all heat exchangers made from fine wires?
The principle is known from patents going back to 1927 but nobody has found an economic way yet to produce these heat exchangers. Fiwihex has found such a production process, and is busy developing fine wire heat exchangers.More about the physics of the heat exchanger...

This heat exchanger has the following applications:
This is a ceiling fan that can heat or cool air with only a few degrees ºC. The fine wire heat exchanger is here a woven cloth stacked in parallel strips around a slow turning Sirocco fan. More about the Fiwihex fan...
This fan has applications for space cooling and heating, improves the COP of heat pumps and makes small-scale seasonal storage possible.
This product has been developed especially for cooling greenhouses that can then be closed. The humidity rises, by adding CO2 to the greenhouse air and controlling both, the production increases by a factor of up to 2 in dry countries, by up to 1.2 in advanced greenhouses such as in the Netherlands. This is a fine wire heat exchanger from air to air, incorporated into a double fan that refreshes the air while keeping the heat or cold inside the room. More about the Breathing Window...
