New Look
For years I have tried to grow long hair, but the result kept looking very messy. So we have decided to change to a new strategy: Take off at least 6 inches! Today I went to the hairdresser to get this done.
"Are you sure?" -- you bet!
The result was a nice amount of hair, very usable to make a wig. My hairdressers Jos and Tonny are specialists in wigs and extensions, so they are always scouting for people who are willing to donate some hair.
So if you see someone walking on the street in Eindhoven with a bunch of rope on his head, you will know where that hair came from: It came off my head! Seriously, they told me they can make even my hair very usable for a wig: It is treated chemically to improve the quality.
"So couldn't you have done that while it was still in head?"
"No, no, they put it in hydrochloric acid and things like that; you wouldn't want to pu your head in that..."
I have to agree that does not sound like a good idea.
But the hair that was left on my head is good quality too. So I left their shop with a whole new look! I was very curious about the reaction I would get on the T&T-evening later that day...
It turned out to be a great success: All evening I got compliments for my new hair! I should have done this much earlier.
Today was the first T&T-evening after the new law on smoking in public places has come into effect. Smoking is prohibited inside every public building now, including bars and restaurants and including the community center. This sure took some getting-used-to!
Fortunately there was a place outside in the backyard where we could smoke and of course it was quite busy there. Standard conversation in places like that always centers around the same subjects: "Politicians are getting everything wrong." -- "Pretty soon we may not even be allowed o smoke out on the streets." -- "Cigarettes are much too expensive." -- "And so is gasoline." -- Mumble, grumble, mumble...
Well, no I am picturing the situation too negatively. As a matter of fact these refuges for smokers are always and nice place to be and a very good opportunity for networking.
Every month since March I have seem some people on our evenings whom have taken the Cogiati-test with me. It is good to see out transgender info day has given them the little push they needed to get out of the closet and find the courage to express their gender identity!
