Pierre Boulle
1912-1994
 

Pierre François Marie Louis Boulle was born in Avignon, France. He was an author and engineer. During the Second World War, he served as a spy in Singapore. He is best known for his novels The Bridge Over the River Kwai and Planet of the Apes which were both made into films.
