John the Blind

King of Bohemia (b.1296, d.1346)

This is the tomb of John the Blind, king of Bohemia, located in the Notre Dame in the city of Luxemburg. He was the son of emperor Henry VII and in 1310 he was crowned king of Bohemia. In 1339 he went blind but continued to rule. He supported the French in their war against the English and fell in the battle of Crecy (26 August 1346).
