1-FEB-03 Chinese New Year, AMSTERDAM

At February 1 2003, the year of the (black) Sheep started. In a great many announcements this year is also referred to as the year of the Goat. This event was celebrated by the Chinese community with a traditional lion dance. The CNCWS started the New Year's celebration with a noisy drum session, which was followed by a kungfu demonstration. Then lion dance was preceeded by the iginition of fire crackers by one of the CNCWS drummers. Despite the snow it was a joyful day.
