Nederlands
THE HAGUE / AMSTERDAM / ROTTERDAM / HAARLEM (Neth.) - Mr. Cocker HCAW completed its first 3-game sweep of the season, winning 12-6 vs. ADO Lakers, which has now lost 10 games in a row and is in last place. With the three wins, HCAW climbed from the cellar into fifth place. The Bussum-club now ties with Mampaey The Hawks and Vaessen Pioniers.

The Hawks was swept by L&D Amsterdam Pirates, which completed its sweep with a narrow 2-1 win. DOOR Neptunus trailed after the first inning against Pioniers, but won 7-4. Corendon Kinheim defeated UVV 5-2 to complete another sweep.

ADO Lakers vs. Mr. Cocker HCAW
At The Hague, Mr. Cocker HCAW and ADO Lakers both collected 13 basehits, but the difference in the game was the defence. HCAW made no errors, while ADO Lakers committed eight errors, resulting in nine unearned runs and a 12-6 loss.

Initially, ADO Lakers took a 2-0 lead in the third inning off of Kaj Timmermans. Jurriaan Dijk led off with a single and Odion Gouverneur walked, then both scored on a triple by Nurison Leonora, but then three outs followed.

ADO-starter Ricky Voorn held HCAW to only two hits and scoreless in the first four innings. In the fifth inning, HCAW got one run back. Voorn walked lead-off hitter Max Clarijs, who then advanced on two sac-bunts and scored on a single by Jasper Keijzer.

HCAW then turned the game around with an 8-run rally in the sixth at bat on seven basehits and four errors. Jesus Latte led off with a single, then scored the tying run when an error was made on a sac-bunt by Linoy Croes. With one out, a single by Sergino Martis gave HCAW a 3-2 lead. Max Clarijs followed with a bunt-single, then an error in a pick-off/caught stealing-situation led to the next run. Back-to-back doubles by Arjan Elshof and Barry Mastenbroek brought in two more runs and a new pitcher. Arjan Keijzer was then hit by a pitch and Jorian van Amstel followed with a 2-run double. An error later in the at bat made it 9-2 in HCAW's favor.

HCAW added a run in the eighth on a single by Jim Froberg, then ADO Lakers narrowed the deficit to 10-6 by scoring four runs in the home of the eighth. Facing new pitcher Sedley Karel, Quensley Bazoer led off with a double and scored on a single by Edison Bito. Singles by Rodney Michel and (with one out) Gino Hersilia then brought in two more runs. With two outs, Jurriaan Dijk and Odion Gouverneur also singled to make it 10-6. With runners on first and third base, Leon Elshof relieved Karel and ended the at bat when Nurison Leonora fouled out.

HCAW added two more runs in the ninth on an error and a basesloaded walk and held onto the lead to complete their first 3-game sweep of the season. With today's win, HCAW moved into a tie for fifth place with Vaessen Pioniers and Mampaey The Hawks.

L&D Amsterdam Pirates vs. Mampaey The Hawks
At Amsterdam, L&D Amsterdam Pirates had a narrow escape against Mampaey The Hawks, winning only 2-1.

Corendon Kinheim vs. UVV
At Haarlem, Corendon Kinheim broke an 1-1 tie vs. UVV in the sixth inning and went on to win 5-2 to extend its winning streak to eight games.

Kinheim opened the score in the third inning. Mervin Gario led off with a single, but was forced out on a grounder by Roy Seltenrijch, who then advanced to third base on a single by Remco Draijer. A sac-fly by René Cremer then gave Kinheim the lead.

UVV came alongside in the fifth at bat. With one out, Giovanni Samboe doubled and scored on a 2-out double by Joris van Ballegooy.

Kinheim re-took the lead in the sixth inning. Ramiro Balentina led off with a double. He moved to third base when Bryan Engelhardt flied out, then Jeffrey Arends was walked intentionally. A grounder by Quintin de Cuba then enabled Balentina to score to go-ahead run off of Chris Mezger, who was relieved after six innings.

Kinheim took more distance in the eighth inning by scoring three runs. Balentina and Engelhardt began with singles, which led to a pitching change, as Jerremyh Angela was replaced by former Kinheim-pitcher Duko Jansen. Moments later, Balentina was forced out at third base on a bunt by Arends, but then the bases got loaded when Gario was hit by a pitch with two outs. The bases were then cleared by Roy Seltenrijch with a 3-run double that made it 5-1.

UVV added only one more run in the ninth inning off of closer Arshwin Asjes. Dennis De Quint led off with asingle, then was safe when an error was made on an one-out grounder by Samboe. The bases were loaded when Ferd van Stekelenburg walked. Next, a single by Van Ballegooy produced a run, but then two flyouts followed, leaving the bases loaded and ending the game.

UVV collected only three basehits off of starter Nick Veltkamp, who threw six innings. He was then relieved by Leon Boyd, who arrived from Canada last Thursday and now made his first appearance in a Kinheim-uniform and pitched two innings.
