This is a page for spoilers and other facts about
It's a picture-poor and content-heavy site, probably because I'm more interested in
collecting and ordering the data, than in making a flashy homepage, and because
if I want to know something myself, I prefer it to appear instantly. The page is
designed with a resolution of at least 800x600 in mind. (Otherwise you'll need
to do an awful lot of scrolling.)
If you arrived on this page from e.g. a search engine, and don't have the index on the
left side (no frames), you might prefer the frames version.
- Currently this page isn't updated much anymore; check out
the site history for recent changes.
- A MM9 player decided to fix some bugs with quests himself. Get that
unofficial patch, because it might prevent several problems.
- If you're looking for information that's not on this site, there's always
the links section, with references to some very extensive
MM9 sites (why am I doing this anyway?), some Forums, non-English sites and utilities.
- But hopefully you found the info here, and are so greatful that you want to send me
mail.
(Everyone likes some feedback and contributions. Questions on the game can most often
better be posted at forums, if you can't find the answer there yourself.)
I've collected most game info in an Excel workbook, and saved the sheets as html
for easier browsing. (see the listing below)
You can also get the original workbook,
so you can sort the data the way you want (e.g. all artifacts of a set together),
or alter the data. Of course you do need Excel then. (This sheet currently grows
almost every day, and might contain sheets not available in html, either because they're
not ready yet, or because the info is not interesting enough for a larger audience.)
Sometimes the pages saved from Excel show some overlapping lines; I haven't found out
yet what causes this, but if you reselect the same page, it's gone.
The tables in the data pages can get pretty wide, making it hard to know you're
looking at the right line when you've scrolled to the right. A tip: put your mouse
on the line you're interested in, completely to the left. Now drag it one line down
(pressing the left button), and you'll see the line becomes selected.
Now you can scroll through the table, while this line stays high-lighted as long as you
don't click in the table any further.
- There's a table of skills, which classes can get to which
level, and where to find the trainers.
- The promotions section tells you
where to find the people that will give you a class promotion, and what quests they
give you. Don't read that section if you don't want to be spoiled, because it also
contains rudimentary descriptions of the solution.
- Here is a description of all NPCs your party can hire.
- What enchantments items can have, are listed in the
item attributes section. Almost all enchantments come in
three flavors, which are on the same line in the table.
- The listing of all artifacts in the game will give
you an idea about these top-of-the-line items.
- If you want to find out how to get from one city to another, you can check the
boat schedule.
- If you want more artifacts, check out where to find all
black chests.
- The scores page shows what people have scored when finishing
the game, with what party, and how long it took them. If you want your score there too,
mail me the your score, composition of your party, total time, and the name or alias you
want to appear with. (You can find the data in the Highscore0.bmp file in the MM9 directory.)
- For the optimal use of spellcasters, the spell mastery
page shows exactly what mastery you need for each spell, and how high a mastery
level each class can reach in that spell.
- Several spells could use a bit more explanation or rectification. The
spell notes page tries to fill that gap.
- The maps section contains screen grabs of all outside areas,
converted to grayscale (no colors). You can print them and write your own notes on them.
- When looking at message boards, I often see the same questions being asked over and over
again. The ones I run across I put in my FAQ section.
So this is a 'Frequently Asked Questions' in the strictest sense of the word.
- Sometimes adventurers encounter weird phenomena in Chedian; have a look at some
funny things various people spotted.
- Almost every player must have noticed this game is not completely bug free;
the bugs list page makes an attempt at
listing all known ones.
