Yellow-legged gull L. michahellis

This 1st winter/summer was photographed on 8 April 2000 near Wijster in the Netherlands. Apart from the typical YLG-features (firm black bill, pale head and underparts, long wings and legs) this bird also shows several moulted wingcoverts. These 2nd generation feathers seem to have been moulted in the autumn of the previous year because of their worn state.
