Glaucous Gull Larus hyperboreus

This 2nd winter Glaucous Gull was present on the VAM rubbish dump near Wijster, the Netherlands between 5 and 12 January 2002. On the same day a 1st winter bird was present, which can be viewed here. Together with the 1st winter this forms the 5th and 6th record for the (inland) province of Drenthe. The 4rth record, a 3rd winter and possibly a returning bird, can be seen here. The 1st and 2nd record (both 1st winters) can be seen here. From the 2nd record, a 2nd winter, are only very, very distant record shots.
