Caspian Gull L. cachinnans

This moulting juvenile was photographed by Martijn Bot (his website) at the Eemshaven (Groningen) on 29 August 2004. Note its typical structure, the pale head and the rather dull patterned juvenile scapulars and lesser and median coverts (dusty brown with a pale edge). The tertials are typically dark with a rather broad pale edge.
