While visiting Ireland a while ago I came across a fascinating book on traditional Irish or Brehon law. The laws cover everything from farm animals and property, crime and punishment, through to women's rights, marriage, health and occupation.
It's a book well-worth reading. It's called "Traditional Irish Laws",
(ISBN 0-86281-685-8) written by Mary Dowling Daley, illustrated by Ian
McCullough and published by Appletree Press,19 Alfred Street, Belfast BT2
8DL, Northern Ireland.
