My Introduction to the game

When I was studying for my degree at the HTS in Rotterdam, a fellow student spoke about the game to me during a game of Magic the Gathering. He told me mostly about the adventures the group he was in experienced and also said that he was starting his own campaign soon. He asked me if I was intrested in joining his player group. We agreed that I would come by one time and create a character with his help and would play one session. Our first session was the rescue of a kidnapped daughter of some rich merchant. I played a grumpy old dwarf called Lhurgoyf. I still was a active Magic player at that time. I really liked the game and the way things played out. It took us almost another 2 months to get together again, because his group was made of players from all over the region. After 2 more sessions with him, I convinced a few friends of mine to try it out, and I started my own campaign on some PMP world I created.

About my campaign

Well my campaign is now already 3 years on its way. We hope and try to play at least once every two weeks but it is difficult to even hang on to that schedule. My campaign is I think a very open campaign, in that the player's are seldom told that something can't be done while creating a character. I try to let my players free for as much as I can, something which will be seen if you take a look at the character descriptions also on this site. I'm currently wondering if I will make the step towards 3rd edition, but I'm not sure and have not spoken to my players about it. If we start a 3rd edition campaign it will be a new campaign starting at the lower levels.
