Liselotte Losch studied singing with Lorenz Hofer in Berlin. From 1839 to 1942 she held an engagement at the Theatre in Ulm. In 1942 she went to the Volksoper in Berlin where she worked until 1944. From 1948 to 1961 she was a member of the ensemble of the State Opera Under den Linden in Berlin. There she met het her husband Josef Metternich. She also performed in operettas that were broadcasted on television by the WDR in Cologne.

Together with her husband she lived in Feldafing in Bavaria where she worked as a singing teacher. among her students were Dominique Hopf, Gudrun Wagner-Jones and Gabriele Ramm.
