XS4ALL has supplied the first ADSL connection in the Netherlands operating on the new internet protocol IPv6.
What does that mean?
Every computer connected to the internet has a unique identification number known as an IP address (IP = internet protocol). The existing supply of IP addresses is forecast to run out in around 700 days. If we are unable to connect any more computers, that will have major economic consequences throughout the world. That was made clear by our expert Marco Hogewoning at the RIPE 58 conference in Amsterdam on 5 May.

XS4ALL attaches great importance to internet security. Did you know that your own behaviour on the internet can give rise to major security risks? To make people aware of the risks and provide useful tips, XS4ALL is organising three different training courses in May and June: Security, Entrepreneurs and Parents.
Learn how to recognise phishing e-mails and keep your computer protected at all times. Or how to store and transmit customer data securely. And find out what children and adolescents most enjoy doing on the internet and why. Come and take part in an XS4ALL security training course in a city of your choice.

XS4ALL has introduced a new Colocation service. The DC2 Data Centre is now offering the Half Rack service, providing a lockable half rack with a height of 27U. The service includes ample amounts of data traffic (2.5 TB) and power (2x5 amps). Half Rack customers have access to the data centre day and night. This new service means there is now an ideal Colocation solution for every company. Full details can be found on our website, where you can also view the Colocation video!

The EU Profiler website went online on 23 April. It provides an electoral compass for the European elections and is sponsored by XS4ALL. The website can help you decide how to vote. It is also carrying out scientific research into the elections. The results are being analysed by political scientists from VU University Amsterdam. The EU Profiler is an extensive project comprising 30 versions of the site for all 27 EU member states, as well as Croatia (which is set to join soon) and Switzerland and Turkey (which wish to join). The website is available in 23 languages and carries the manifestos of 291 parties taking part in the European elections.
