Emmy Loose was educated at the Conservatory in Prague and passed the State Examinations. She debuted in 1939 in Hanover as Blondchen in "Die Entführung aus dem Serail". In 1941 she was engaged at the State Opera in Vienna, where she worked until 1966.

She appeared at the festival in Salzburg, at the Scala in Milan, Covent Garden in London and also performed in Asia and South America. In 1954 she received the title of Kammersängerin in Austria. From 1979 onwards she was a teacher at the Academy of Music in Vienna. She was married to the laryngologist Dr. Otto Kriso.
